Noida:
The Noida Authority is likely to propose a budget of around ₹9,000 crore for the financial year 2026–27, with a significant portion earmarked for infrastructure development, rural upliftment, and maintenance works. The proposed allocations were discussed during a recent review meeting held at the Authority’s administrative office in Sector-6.

According to officials, approximately ₹2,200 crore has been proposed for civil construction and completion of ongoing and new development projects. The allocation reflects the Authority’s focus on strengthening urban infrastructure and accelerating key works across sectors.

Major Allocations for Development and Maintenance

Out of the total proposed outlay, around ₹250 crore is expected to be spent on rural development initiatives. These funds will be utilized for infrastructure improvement, civic amenities, and overall enhancement of villages falling within the Noida Authority area.

Maintenance-related expenditures are projected to account for nearly ₹2,400 crore. This includes upkeep of roads, drainage systems, street lighting, public parks, sanitation services, and other essential urban infrastructure. Officials indicated that maintenance remains a major component of the annual budget, given the expanding size and population of the city.

The proposed budget underscores a dual focus: completing large-scale development projects while also ensuring proper maintenance of existing infrastructure.

Boost in Water Revenue and Rural Development

During the review meeting, officials discussed increasing revenue streams to support the proposed expenditure. A rise in water revenue collections and improved financial management in rural development areas were highlighted as key contributors to strengthening the Authority’s financial position.

Authorities are exploring measures to enhance water revenue through better billing systems, recovery drives, and improved supply management. The aim is to generate sufficient internal revenue to sustain development activities without placing excessive financial burden on the Authority.

Rural development has also emerged as a priority area, with proposed allocations aimed at bridging infrastructure gaps between urban and village areas within Noida’s jurisdiction.

Focus on Infrastructure Completion

The ₹2,200 crore allocation for civil construction is expected to cover a range of projects, including road widening, sector development, drainage upgrades, and other civic infrastructure works. Officials said the emphasis will be on timely completion of ongoing projects while initiating new works aligned with the city’s growth plan.

Noida has witnessed rapid urban expansion in recent years, resulting in increased demand for improved connectivity, public utilities, and civic services. The proposed budget reflects efforts to address these demands systematically.

Review Meeting at Sector-6 Office

The budget proposals were discussed during a review meeting held at the Noida Authority’s administrative block in Sector-6. Senior officials assessed projected revenues, expenditure estimates, and sector-wise allocations.

Sources indicated that the draft budget balances capital expenditure for new development with operational costs required to sustain existing facilities. Authorities are expected to finalize the figures after further deliberations and approvals.

Financial Planning for Expanding City

With continued urban growth, the Authority’s financial planning has become increasingly complex. The proposed ₹9,000 crore budget is seen as an effort to align fiscal planning with Noida’s expanding infrastructure needs.

Maintenance costs have risen significantly due to the addition of new sectors and facilities over the years. At the same time, infrastructure demands in both urban and rural pockets require sustained capital investment.

Officials believe that improved revenue collection mechanisms and disciplined expenditure management will play a key role in implementing the proposed allocations effectively.

Balanced Development Strategy

The projected budget indicates a balanced strategy—prioritizing infrastructure development, rural enhancement, and long-term maintenance. By allocating ₹2,200 crore to civil projects and ₹2,400 crore to maintenance, the Authority aims to ensure that new infrastructure is developed while existing assets are preserved and upgraded.

The ₹250 crore earmarked for rural development signals an effort to integrate village areas into the broader urban development framework.

Further discussions and approvals are expected before the final budget for 2026–27 is formally adopted. However, if implemented as proposed, the nearly ₹9,000 crore outlay would mark one of the significant annual budgets in the Authority’s recent history, reflecting Noida’s continued growth and expanding administrative responsibilities.
