23 March 2026, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Preparations for Census 2027 have begun in Gautam Buddh Nagar with the launch of a three day training program for 72 designated field trainers at Greater Noida Institute of Technology. The training aims to equip officials with the necessary knowledge and skills required to conduct census operations efficiently and accurately. Participants are being trained in census concepts, procedures, rules and the use of digital tools to ensure smooth execution of the upcoming census process. Officials stated that the training program is an important step toward ensuring that the census is conducted in a systematic and error free manner.

Focus on Digital Tools and Practical Training
During the training program, field trainers are being provided with detailed guidance on data collection methods, survey techniques and compliance with census guidelines. Special emphasis is being placed on the use of digital tools including mobile applications and online portals for data entry. Participants are also being given practical sessions to help them understand real field conditions and challenges. The use of technology is expected to improve accuracy, efficiency and transparency in the census process.
Trainers to Guide Enumerators in April
After completing this training, the field trainers will conduct training sessions in April for enumerators and supervisors working in various tehsils, urban local bodies and industrial authorities across the district. This cascading training model is designed to ensure that all personnel involved in census operations are properly trained and informed. Officials believe that this approach will help maintain uniformity in data collection and improve the overall quality of census operations.
Census to Be Conducted in Two Phases
Census 2027 will be carried out in two phases. The first phase, covering house listing and housing census, will take place from May 22 to June 20, 2026. The second phase, involving actual population enumeration, will be conducted from February 9 to February 28, 2027. Officials stated that detailed planning has been done for both phases and the current training program is a key step in the preparation process.
The training is being conducted by master trainers Shashank Sharma and Bhupinder Singh along with district coordinators Pradeep Kumar and Utkarsh Pandey from the Directorate of Census Operations Uttar Pradesh. Administrative arrangements are being managed by Arvind Sharma from the District Magistrate office. Authorities expressed confidence that such training initiatives will ensure effective and organized execution of the census process.
