Noida: In view of the state government’s target of achieving a One Trillion Dollar Economy, regular monthly review meetings are being convened at the government level to monitor the functioning and progress of industrial projects. As part of this ongoing review mechanism, the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority on Monday conducted a detailed assessment of the updated status of industrial plots within the Authority area.
During the review meeting held on January 6, 2026, the status of industrial plots was examined on the basis of official records maintained by the Noida Authority. The review revealed that a total of three industrial plots stood cancelled as per the records. Taking note of the situation, the Chief Executive Officer issued clear instructions that possession of two of the cancelled industrial plots should be taken back immediately. The remaining one cancelled plot, in which a legal case is currently pending, has been excluded from immediate possession proceedings until further orders.
The review exercise was aimed at ensuring optimum utilization of industrial land and preventing stagnation of valuable resources, especially at a time when industrial growth is considered a key driver for achieving the ambitious economic targets set by the government. The Chief Executive Officer emphasized that industrial plots allotted for specific purposes must be developed and operated within the stipulated time frame, failing which strict action would be taken in accordance with prevailing rules and regulations.
Apart from the cancelled plots, the review also focused on several other categories of industrial land parcels that have not been utilized as intended. It was observed that there are 11 industrial plots on which construction has been completed but industrial operations have not yet commenced. These plots were classified as constructed but non-functional. In addition, 13 industrial plots were found to be under construction, while nine plots were lying completely vacant. In all these cases, the permissible time extension granted to the allottees has already expired.
Taking a serious view of these delays and non-compliance, the Chief Executive Officer directed the concerned departments to ensure that the process of cancellation of these plots is initiated and completed strictly in accordance with the rules. Clear instructions were issued to ensure that no undue delay occurs in taking action against defaulters, and that all procedural formalities are completed in a time-bound manner.
The Noida Authority reiterated that industrial plots are allotted with the objective of promoting industrial activity, employment generation, and overall economic development of the region. Any failure on the part of allottees to adhere to the prescribed timelines not only hampers industrial growth but also goes against the broader economic objectives of the state. In this context, the Authority underlined that stringent monitoring and regular reviews would continue to ensure accountability.
Officials present during the review were instructed to maintain updated and accurate records of all industrial plots and to submit periodic status reports. The Chief Executive Officer stressed the importance of coordination among various departments to ensure effective implementation of decisions taken during such review meetings. He also directed officials to ensure transparency in the entire process and to strictly follow the established norms while initiating cancellation or possession proceedings.
The Noida Authority further stated that such review meetings will remain a regular feature as part of the larger strategy to accelerate industrial development and contribute meaningfully to the One Trillion Dollar Economy goal. By identifying stalled, non-functional, or non-compliant industrial projects and taking corrective measures, the Authority aims to make industrial land available for serious investors and entrepreneurs who are willing to establish and operate functional units.
The Authority has made it clear that its focus remains on encouraging genuine industrial activity while discouraging land hoarding and speculative practices. Allottees have once again been advised to comply with the terms and conditions of allotment and to ensure timely completion and commencement of industrial operations.
Through this review and the directions issued, the Noida Authority has reaffirmed its commitment to disciplined land management, efficient industrial governance, and sustained economic growth in alignment with the state government’s long-term economic vision.
