Noida:
Taking a serious view of illegal construction activities taking place within the notified area of Noida, strict instructions have been issued to the concerned officials to carry out demolition and sealing actions against such unauthorized constructions and to launch joint operations against land mafia elements. In line with these directions, the Noida Authority has been conducting regular enforcement drives from time to time, during which demolition and sealing actions have been undertaken against illegal and unauthorized structures.

As part of sustained action against encroachments in the notified areas of Noida, the Authority has carried out large-scale operations against illegal occupations on acquired land, land where possession has already been taken, and land falling under flood-prone zones. During the financial year 2024–25, the Noida Authority freed a total area of 2,15,912 square metres from encroachment. In the financial year 2025–26, action was further intensified, resulting in the clearance of 23,93,158 square metres of encroached land. The total estimated market value of the land freed from encroachment during these operations is approximately Rs 2,745 crore.

The Authority has also taken firm legal action against individuals involved in illegal and unauthorized encroachment activities. Around 25 First Information Reports have been lodged at the concerned police stations against persons found to be directly involved in such unlawful activities. These actions reflect the Authority’s zero-tolerance approach towards encroachment and illegal construction within its jurisdiction.

In addition to action against external offenders, the Noida Authority has also proceeded strictly against its own personnel wherever involvement in such illegal activities was detected. Employees found complicit in unauthorized construction or encroachment-related activities have been subjected to stringent disciplinary proceedings. As a punitive measure, departmental inquiries were instituted against such personnel, they were relieved from Authority services, and actions including withholding of salaries were also initiated. These steps underline the Authority’s commitment to maintaining transparency, accountability, and integrity within its administrative framework.

At present, the Noida Authority has issued a total of 527 notices against 174 identified encroachers operating within the Authority area. These notices have been served as part of the ongoing process to curb unauthorized construction and to ensure compliance with statutory regulations. Alongside enforcement actions, the Authority has been consistently making efforts to create public awareness. From time to time, advisories and warnings are issued through various newspapers to caution the general public. Signboards and information boards have also been installed at multiple locations to inform citizens about restricted areas and the illegality of unauthorized construction.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority has once again cautioned the general public not to fall prey to land mafia operating in the notified areas of Noida. The Authority has clearly stated that unauthorized and illegal colonies are being carved out and multi-storey buildings are being constructed illegally by unscrupulous elements. Citizens have been advised to remain vigilant and to avoid any involvement or investment in such illegal projects, as any construction activity within the notified area of Noida is completely prohibited.

Reiterating the Authority’s firm stance, the Chief Executive Officer has issued clear directions to the concerned departments to continue enforcement drives at an uninterrupted pace, particularly in flood-prone zones and other notified areas of Noida. Officials have been instructed to ensure effective and timely demolition of all unauthorized and illegal constructions, without any relaxation or delay.

The Noida Authority has emphasized that these enforcement measures will continue in a sustained and systematic manner to safeguard public land, protect environmental zones, and maintain planned urban development. Strict monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to prevent fresh encroachments and illegal constructions, and any violation will be met with immediate and decisive action in accordance with the law.

Through these steps, the Noida Authority has reaffirmed its resolve to act firmly against land mafia, illegal constructions, and encroachments, while also urging citizens to cooperate and adhere strictly to approved building norms and regulations.
