Under the “My Clean City” initiative, NOIDA Authority, in collaboration with M/s HCL Foundation, organised a cleanliness fair at Noida Stadium, Sector-21A, today. The event was conducted under the guidance of Chief Executive Officer Krishna Karunesh to raise awareness among residents about the importance of sanitation and waste management.

The fair featured cultural performances, street plays, band performances, cleanliness exhibitions, expert dialogues, and interactive activities for citizens of all age groups. The programme commenced at 9 a.m. with a lively dance performance by The Bhangra Dynasty Group. This was followed by a welcome address and overview of the fair by Alok Verma, Director, HCL Foundation, highlighting the objectives and significance of the initiative.
Dr. Nidhi Pundir, SVP, Global CSR, HCL Tech, addressed the audience, emphasizing the need to foster a positive attitude towards cleanliness and motivate citizens to act responsibly. S.P. Singh, General Manager (Public Health-1), highlighted NOIDA’s performance in national cleanliness surveys conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. NOIDA has consistently improved its rankings from 324th in 2018 to 150th in 2019, achieving the top position in Uttar Pradesh. The city earned a 3-star rating in the Garbage Free City Category and ODF++ certification in 2019. By 2020, NOIDA ranked 25th, reached 4th in 2021, and was recognized as the Best Self-Sustainable City in 2022. In 2023, NOIDA became the only city in Uttar Pradesh to receive Water+ and 5-Star Garbage Free City certification and was awarded the Golden City Award under Swachh Survekshan 2024.
Additional addresses were delivered by Vandana Tripathi, Additional CEO, who motivated citizens to maintain cleanliness and strive for top rankings in Swachh Survekshan. Cultural performances, exhibitions, and interactive sessions by participating artists were appreciated. Cleanliness workers and school principals and students participating in the “My Clean City West Champion” league were also felicitated. Holy Public School and Chaitanya Techno School presented dances on forest conservation and greenery from waste, while Jazba Art Foundation staged a street play titled “Towards Clean India.”
During the expert dialogue session, S.P. Singh, Prabhjot Singh Sodhi (CEE), Alok Verma (HCL Foundation), Dr. Athar Hussain (NSUT), Himanshu Chaturvedi (KPMG Advisory), and Prashant Chauhan (Amity University) shared insights on sanitation practices, citizen engagement, behavioral change, and solid waste management.
The event concluded with the felicitation of stalls and participants, acknowledging their contribution. The cleanliness fair successfully promoted public awareness and reinforced responsible civic behavior among residents of Noida.
