Noida, December 19, 2025:
The New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) has issued a series of strict instructions and imposed financial penalties on contractors following an inspection of several sectors by senior officials on December 19, 2025. The inspection was led by A.K. Arora, General Manager (Civil), and covered Sectors 94, 124, 125, 150 and 151 to assess the status of sanitation, road maintenance and drainage systems.
The inspection team included R.K. Sharma, Project Engineer (Public Health)–II, Satendra Giri, Senior Manager, Work Circle-09, and Praveen Salonia, Senior Manager, Work Circle-10. During the inspection, multiple deficiencies were observed, prompting immediate corrective directions to concerned departments and contractors.
In Sector-94, the authority directed that all footpaths along the 30-metre-wide road adjacent to the Pusta Road and the 45-metre-wide road along the expressway be thoroughly cleaned. Officials noted heavy dust accumulation on the footpaths and instructed that water tankers be deployed to wash and clean these areas to ensure proper sanitation and dust control.
In Sector-125 and the road between Sector-125 and the Pusta Road, tree trimming work had already been carried out by the Horticulture Department. However, the cut branches and trimming waste were found lying uncleared. The inspection team directed that the remaining debris be completely removed within two days to restore cleanliness and prevent inconvenience to residents and commuters.
In Sector-151 (Part-B), it was observed that no sanitation contract is currently in place. Taking note of this lapse, officials instructed the concerned department to prepare an estimate at the earliest to initiate a cleaning contract and ensure regular sanitation services in the area.
Serious lapses were also found in Sectors 150, 151 and 152, where grass growth, soil and dust were observed on the main roads. Footpaths and service roads were littered with fallen leaves and garbage heaps, indicating irregular cleaning by the contractor. In view of these shortcomings, the authority directed the imposition of a penalty of ₹1 lakh on the contractor, M/s New Modern Enterprises. The contractor has also been instructed to submit a detailed compliance report with before-and-after photographs within seven days.
Further, in Sectors 151 and 152, along the NPX Building, both adjoining drains were found filled with silt. A similar situation was observed in the drains along the 45-metre-wide road, suggesting that drain cleaning was not being carried out regularly. As a result, the authority ordered a penalty of ₹50,000 on the contractor, M/s Sanjay Sharma. The contractor has been directed to carry out desilting work immediately and submit a report with before-and-after photographs within seven days.
In Sector-151, dense wild vegetation was found growing on NOIDA Authority-owned plots. The inspection team instructed Work Circle-09 to ensure immediate clearing of the overgrown areas to prevent encroachment, fire hazards and public inconvenience.
Additionally, the inspection revealed that sanitation conditions in the area spanning Sectors 150 to 158 were unsatisfactory. Several locations had garbage dumps and overgrown vegetation, while drains were not being cleaned regularly. Considering the overall poor sanitation management, the authority directed that a warning be issued to the concerned Health Inspector, Rajesh Kumar, for lapses in monitoring and supervision.
The NOIDA Authority reiterated that maintaining cleanliness, proper drainage and regular monitoring are top priorities, and strict action will continue against contractors and officials found negligent in discharging their duties.
