In an effort to ensure smooth traffic movement and accessible public spaces, the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority carried out a large-scale encroachment removal drive across several parts of Noida on February 13, 2026. The action targeted unauthorized vendors, roadside stalls and temporary structures occupying roads and public land.

The drive was conducted as part of the authority’s planned daily anti-encroachment initiative, aimed at providing jam-free roads and safer public areas for residents. Encroachment removal teams from Work Circles 1 to 10 simultaneously undertook operations in multiple high-traffic and complaint-prone zones.
Encroachments were removed from sectors 2, 3 and 4, the DSC Road stretch from Sector 15 to Atta, the 75-metre-wide road, sectors 64, 65, 71, 121, 74, 76 and 77, Sector 85, Nayagaon, Sector 87, Cantonment Road, Hosiery Complex, areas beneath the Bhangel elevated road, and sectors 126 and 128.

According to the authority, these locations had witnessed a steady rise in unauthorized vending activities, leading to frequent traffic congestion and inconvenience to pedestrians. The presence of encroachments had also posed challenges for emergency services and routine civic movement.
Officials stated that the campaign was initiated following numerous complaints received from residents, resident welfare associations, industrial bodies and other stakeholders. Based on these inputs, Noida Authority decided to implement a structured, daily encroachment removal plan to address the issue systematically.

The authority clarified that the drive would continue on a regular basis and that strict action would be taken against repeat violations. Citizens have been urged not to encourage illegal vending or encroachments on public land and to cooperate with enforcement teams.
Noida Authority believes that sustained enforcement will significantly improve traffic conditions, reduce congestion-related risks and enhance the overall urban experience. The initiative is being seen as a key step towards maintaining orderly infrastructure and ensuring efficient use of public spaces across the city.
