The district administration in Gautam Buddh Nagar has launched an extensive healthcare outreach program aimed at improving the health and well-being of workers across industrial areas. The initiative, aligned with the state government’s focus on building a healthy workforce and a stronger industrial ecosystem, includes a series of medical camps and awareness drives being conducted from April 24 to May 1, 2026.
According to the district administration, a total of 25 health camps are being organized in worker-dominated areas during this period. Workers have been urged to visit the nearest camp along with their family members to avail themselves of free medical check-ups and healthcare services. The primary objective of this campaign is to ensure early detection of health issues and provide timely treatment, especially for those engaged in labor-intensive occupations.
Mega Health Camp on Labour Day
On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, a Mega Health Camp will be organized on May 1 across the district. Under this initiative, all government hospitals and 31 private multi-speciality hospitals will provide free treatment services to workers. Additionally, more than 300 health camps will be set up within industrial units to ensure easy access to healthcare facilities at workplaces.
These camps will offer a range of services including general health check-ups, telemedicine consultations, dispensary services and ambulance support. The arrangement is aimed at minimizing disruption to workers’ schedules while ensuring they receive necessary medical attention.
Focus on Accessibility and Support Services
To ensure smooth implementation, “Shramik Desks” have been established at all participating hospitals. Volunteers will also be deployed to assist workers and guide them through the process, ensuring that they face no inconvenience while availing services.
Workers have also been encouraged to make use of mobile medical units such as the Chief Minister Arogya Rath and other mobile vans, which are designed to deliver healthcare services directly to industrial clusters and remote areas.
Health, Insurance and Awareness Benefits
Apart from medical services, the camps will also provide information and assistance related to health insurance, life insurance, and the creation of Ayushman cards under Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Special attention is being given to spreading awareness about workers’ welfare schemes and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries are enrolled.
The initiative also includes guidance on children’s education, nutrition and healthcare, ensuring that workers’ families benefit from the program. Dedicated efforts are being made to integrate social welfare with healthcare services for a more comprehensive impact.
Expansion of Healthcare Infrastructure
On May 1, several healthcare and worker welfare projects will also be inaugurated and launched virtually from Lucknow. These include the expansion of telemedicine facilities at 44 locations and the establishment of dispensaries or ambulance rooms at 79 industrial sites.
Additionally, 25 mobile medical vans under the Chief Minister Arogya Rath scheme will be flagged off. Other initiatives include the distribution of 300,000 sanitary pads, organization of worker health camps at 201 locations and provision of free treatment at 31 on-site multi-super speciality hospitals.
The administration will also inaugurate 25 Health ATMs, 4 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances and 10 blood analyzers, while laying the foundation for 5 porta clinics and 15 health and wellness centers. Five new hospitals will be empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, and Shramik help desks will be set up in 201 hospitals.
Education and Skill Development Initiatives
The program also extends to the education sector. Primary School Haldoni and Composite School Chhajarsi will be inaugurated, while the foundation stone for a new CM Composite School in Sector 33, YEIDA, will be laid. Five digital vans or skill development buses will also be launched.
In addition, skill development and extra classes will be conducted in the second shift at 40 schools located in worker-dominated areas. Under the “School Chalo Abhiyan,” 25 special enrollment camps will also be organized to encourage school participation among children.
Labour Welfare and Financial Inclusion Measures
The Labour Department will inaugurate 24 registration centers for construction workers under the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act. It will also ensure the establishment of 43 crèches and the operation of 79 ambulance rooms or dispensaries.
To strengthen long-term welfare support, 15 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed between industries, the administration and self-help groups. In the banking sector, 26 camps will be organized in worker settlements to facilitate enrollment in schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana.
These camps will also focus on financial literacy, including awareness about digital payments, UPI usage and protection against financial fraud.
Additional Welfare Measures
As part of the outreach, the Food and Civil Supplies Department will distribute 15,000 LPG gas cylinders of 5 kg capacity among workers. This measure is aimed at improving access to clean cooking fuel in worker households.
The district administration has appealed to all workers to actively participate in the ongoing campaign and make the most of the free services being offered. The initiative reflects a comprehensive effort to address healthcare, education, financial inclusion and social security needs of the workforce, reinforcing the vision of a healthy workforce and a prosperous economy.
