Lucknow/Jewar, March 28, 2026 | Extensive and multi-layered security arrangements were put in place at the Noida International Airport and surrounding areas during the inauguration of its first phase on Saturday. The entire region was transformed into a high-security zone, with authorities ensuring that robust and permanent safety mechanisms are now being established at the airport.
To enhance security infrastructure, five new temporary police outposts have been created across key locations in and around the airport. In addition, two fire stations equipped with seven units each will be established at separate locations to ensure prompt response in case of emergencies.
Under the leadership of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, comprehensive arrangements have been implemented to strengthen both internal and external security as well as traffic management in the airport region. Authorities have ensured that these systems are designed in a way that minimizes inconvenience to the public, even during high-profile VIP movements in the future.
According to Joint Commissioner of Police Rajiv Narayan Mishra, a total of 70 police personnel have already undergone specialized training under the Jewar Immigration Course. This includes inspectors, sub-inspectors, head constables, and constables. Additionally, 61 more personnel have been nominated for upcoming training sessions to further enhance operational efficiency and preparedness.
For the Jewar Domestic Terminal police station, 35 civil police personnel have been sanctioned and deployed. This team comprises one inspector, two sub-inspectors, nine head constables, three computer operators (Grade A), fifteen constables, two driver constables, and three fourth-grade staff members.
The newly established police outposts are strategically located at Mile Stone-32 km, Cargo Terminal, Domestic Terminal, Mile Stone-27 km, and Mile Stone-15 km. These outposts are expected to significantly strengthen perimeter security and ensure effective monitoring of all access routes to the airport.
To maintain continuous vigilance, PCR and PRV vehicles equipped with modern technology have been deployed for round-the-clock patrolling. Personnel have been stationed at both outposts and mobile units to ensure that security remains active and responsive at all times.
From a fire safety perspective, approval has been granted to establish two new fire stations in Sector-32 and Sector-18 of the Yamuna Authority area. Each station will be built on 7,485 square meters of land and will house seven operational units. Dedicated staff including fire officers, assistant officers, drivers, and firefighters will be appointed to ensure swift emergency response.
Authorities are also working on proposals to further strengthen the security framework by sanctioning additional senior-level positions, including one Deputy Commissioner of Police, one Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, and three Assistant Commissioners of Police, along with approximately 70 supporting staff members.
Efforts are underway to allocate around 4,000 square meters of land for the construction of a new “Jewar International Terminal” police station. Proposals for staffing this facility are also under consideration. Additionally, plans are being made to establish a dedicated police lines facility near the airport, for which approximately 10,000 square meters of land is being sought from the Yamuna Industrial Development Authority. This facility will include essential units such as a bomb disposal squad, dog squad, transport division, armory, training center, barracks, and administrative offices.
Officials stated that these comprehensive and technology-driven arrangements aim to ensure that the Noida International Airport operates in line with the highest security standards, setting a benchmark for airport safety in the country.
During the inauguration event attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a five-layered security cover was implemented across the region. Advanced anti-drone systems, CCTV surveillance, and intelligence networks were deployed to monitor every movement. Over 100 entry points were secured with 200 door-frame metal detectors, along with anti-sabotage checks, bomb disposal squads, anti-mine units, and sniffer dogs.
Approximately 5,000 security personnel were deployed, including forces from PAC, RAF, ATS, CISF, and SPG. The entire area was declared a no-fly zone, and additional measures such as social media monitoring, control rooms, help desks, and alerts for NDRF and SDRF teams were activated. Parking arrangements for nearly 20,000 vehicles were also made to manage the large influx of visitors.
With these extensive preparations, officials emphasized that the Noida International Airport will not only enhance connectivity but also set new standards in aviation security and emergency preparedness in India.
