Noida | March 15, 2026 — The fourth edition of the HCL Cyclothon Noida witnessed participation from more than 2,700 cyclists from across India, making it one of the largest cycling events in the region. Organised by the HCL Group, the race started from Gaur City Chowk and was conducted on a 10.6-km loop along the Noida–Greater Noida Link Road.

The event saw participation from over 200 police personnel, more than 100 students from Kumari Mayawati Government Girls PG College, Badalpur, and members of several cycling communities including Super Women Athletics Group (SWAG), Pahadi Pedallers, and AAE15 (All About Exploring). Additionally, 1,081 participants joined the event as Green Riders.
Largest Prize Pool for Cycling Event in India
The cyclothon was organised under the aegis of the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) with support from the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Uttar Pradesh Police Department. The competition offered a prize pool of ₹29.2 lakh, which organisers said is among the highest prize amounts for a cycling event in the country.
Distinguished guests present at the event included Shakti Mohan Awasthi, DCP Noida Central; Sundar Mahalingam, President – Strategy, HCL Group; and Maninder Singh, Secretary General of the Cycling Federation of India.
Cyclothon Growing into Major Cycling Platform
Launched in 2023, the HCL Cyclothon has quickly established itself as a prominent road cycling event in India. The event is now organised across multiple cities including Noida, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, and has brought together nearly 18,000 cyclists nationwide.
Organised in collaboration with state governments, the cyclothon offers a vehicle-free route where both amateur cyclists and CFI-certified professional riders can compete and participate.
The initiative aims to promote wider participation in cycling while encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle.
Multiple Race Formats for Different Skill Levels
To ensure broad participation, the cyclothon featured several race categories catering to cyclists of varying experience levels. These included:
- 55 km Professional Road Race
- 55 km Amateur Road Race
- 23 km Amateur Road Race
- 23 km Amateur MTB Road Race
- 12 km Green Ride
HCL Group’s President – Strategy Sundar Mahalingam also participated in the 23 km amateur road race, riding alongside other amateur cyclists.
Encouraging Fitness and Sustainable Lifestyle
Speaking at the event, Sundar Mahalingam said the growing enthusiasm for the cyclothon in Noida is encouraging and reflects the increasing popularity of cycling in India.
He noted that since its launch, the initiative has evolved into a nationwide movement, connecting more than 18,000 participants across cities.
Mahalingam said the event reflects the belief that cycling is rapidly becoming a lifestyle centred on fitness, sustainability and community spirit. Through such platforms, HCL aims to create meaningful sporting opportunities that promote active living and inclusivity.
The event concluded with enthusiastic participation across categories, highlighting the growing popularity of cycling as both a competitive sport and a fitness activity.
The 2026 edition of the cyclothon was organised under the theme ChangeYourGear, encouraging participants to test their endurance while promoting fitness, sustainability and healthy competition.
