Greater Noida | March 14, 2026 — The Greater Noida Authority has issued a final reminder to allottees to clear pending water bills before March 31. Officials stated that from April 1, interest for the entire financial year 2026–27 will be added to the outstanding amount, increasing the total payable dues.
According to authority officials, the city currently has more than 51,000 water connections. Out of these, over 29,000 connections have pending water bill payments amounting to nearly ₹270 crore.
The highest amount of pending dues has been recorded in builder societies across the city. Despite repeated notices issued by the authority, a large number of defaulters have not yet cleared their dues.
Builder Societies Account for Major Share of Dues
Data from the authority’s water department indicates that about 92 builder societies alone account for approximately ₹150 crore in pending water charges.
In addition to builder societies, more than 28,000 residential properties have unpaid water bills. Outstanding dues have also been recorded from six IT units, 321 institutional properties, 763 industrial units, 20 residential societies, and 21 commercial establishments.
Officials said such large-scale pending dues create financial pressure on the maintenance and expansion of the city’s water supply infrastructure.
Authority Plans Disconnection of Defaulting Connections
The Greater Noida Authority said it had not disconnected water supply earlier to avoid inconvenience to residents living in housing societies.
However, the authority is now preparing to take strict action. If dues are not cleared before March 31, water connections of defaulters may be disconnected starting April.
Officials emphasized that the move aims to ensure timely payment and maintain financial sustainability for the water supply system.
Allottees can check their pending water bills and make payments through the authority’s official portal: https://investgnida.in/myGNIDAservices
SMS and Email Alerts Sent to Updated KYC Holders
The authority also informed that allottees who have updated their KYC details have received notifications regarding water dues through SMS and email.
For any information related to pending bills or payment procedures, residents can contact the Senior Manager (Water) on mobile number 9205691408.
Additional CEO Sumit Yadav said that just as the authority is responsible for providing water supply, it is equally the responsibility of allottees to pay water charges on time. He added that the collected funds will be used to improve and strengthen the city’s water supply network.
He appealed to all defaulters to clear their dues before March 31 to avoid strict action and prevent inconvenience to residents.
