Guidelines Shared for Better Workplace Practices
During the meeting, officials briefed representatives of industrial organizations about the latest guidelines issued by the factory department. These guidelines are aimed at ensuring fair treatment of workers, improving workplace conditions, and preventing disputes between management and labour.
ADM Manglesh Dubey clearly stated that no worker should be removed from service without valid justification. He emphasized that overtime work must be compensated at double rates without any deductions. Every worker must be given a weekly holiday, and if required to work on Sundays, they must be paid at double rates.
It was also reiterated that all workers must receive bonus payments as per rules, which must be credited to their bank accounts by November 30. Additionally, any wage increase announced by the Uttar Pradesh government will be implemented from the effective date and extended to all workers without delay.
Focus on Worker Welfare and Safety
To ensure a safe and respectful working environment, it was directed that every factory must establish an Internal Committee to prevent sexual harassment at the workplace, with a woman designated as its chairperson. Complaint boxes will also be installed in factories to provide workers with an accessible platform to register grievances.
Officials further stressed that workers must be treated with dignity and respect at all times. Employers were instructed to ensure that all necessary facilities are provided within the workplace to maintain a healthy and productive environment.
In addition, it was mandated that wages must be paid in full to workers by the 10th of every month, and salary slips must be provided without exception. These measures aim to enhance transparency and build trust between workers and employers.
Police Emphasizes Maintaining Law and Order
DCP Praveen Ranjan Singh highlighted that maintaining law and order remains a top priority for the police. He emphasized the importance of coordination between entrepreneurs and workers to prevent any disruption to industrial activities. He also called for cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and stable environment in industrial areas.
