Gautam Buddh Nagar | March 17, 2026 — The Agriculture Department has announced that farmers in the district can obtain hybrid maize seeds at a 50% subsidy under the Rapid Maize Development Programme and Hybrid Seed Scheme for Zaid 2026.
Seed Distribution at Block-Level Centers
According to Deputy Director of Agriculture Rajeev Kumar, seed distribution is being carried out through government agricultural seed stores located in all development block premises.
Special distribution stalls have been set up to ensure easy access for farmers across the district.
Affordable Price with Government Subsidy
The notified selling price of hybrid maize seeds is ₹285 per kilogram.
However, under the subsidy scheme, eligible farmers can purchase the seeds at 50% reduced cost, making it more affordable.
Supply by HIL India Limited
The seeds are being supplied by HIL India Limited (HIL), which has been allocated the responsibility for distribution in the district.
