Gautam Buddh Nagar | March 17, 2026 — A crucial meeting of the Airport Emergency Planning Committee (AEPC) and Airport Environment Management Committee (AEMC) was held at the YIAPL Administrative Office, Noida International Airport, under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate.
The meeting included a detailed power presentation reviewing emergency preparedness, coordination mechanisms, and modern infrastructure arrangements at the airport.
Focus on Strong Emergency Response System
The District Magistrate directed all concerned departments—including Fire Services, Health Department, DDMA, Yamuna Development Authority, and APHO—to ensure timely, effective, and integrated emergency response systems.
He emphasized that strong coordination among all stakeholder agencies is essential to handle any emergency situation efficiently.
Review of Regulatory Framework and Preparedness
The airport’s CEO Christoph Schnellmann briefed the committee on key operational aspects.
The committee, constituted under the Ministry of Civil Aviation Disaster Management Plan-2016 and DGCA guidelines, serves as the apex body to review and update airport emergency preparedness.

Discussions were held in line with:
- ICAO Annex-14 standards
- DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR)
- Ministry of Civil Aviation guidelines
- Strengthening Medical and Disaster Response Coordination
- Special emphasis was placed on improving coordination between:
Local hospitals
Ambulance services
Airport health authorities
This is aimed at effectively managing mass casualty incidents and emergency situations.
The District Magistrate also reviewed mock drills and emergency exercises conducted so far and directed that district-level officers be trained regularly.
Strict Safety and Security Directives
During the meeting, key safety instructions were issued:
No drones allowed in no-flying zones
Laser lights banned within 18 km radius of the airport
Strict compliance to avoid aviation risks
Urban Planning and Environmental Compliance
The Yamuna Development Authority was directed to:

Approve building height proposals as per color-coded regulations
Ensure compliance before construction approvals
Officials were also instructed to ensure proper waste management in nearby areas, maintaining environmental and cleanliness standards around the airport zone.
