Gautam Buddh Nagar, December 17, 2025:
In an effort to address the concerns of local farmers, the district administration organized Farmer’s Day at Vikas Bhawan, with Chief Development Officer Dr. Shivakant Dwivedi presiding over the event. Farmer’s Day is held every third Wednesday of the month to provide a platform for farmers to raise issues related to agriculture and seek guidance from the authorities.
Progressive farmers attending the program shared their challenges, while officials from the Agriculture Department conducted awareness sessions on the Farmer Registry, emphasizing its importance for accessing various government schemes. Chief Development Officer Dr. Dwivedi instructed that all cooperative societies ensure the adequate availability of fertilizers, particularly urea, across the district. He also directed the Irrigation Department to take immediate action to resolve waterlogging issues in villages such as Khandera and Chhaulas. District Agriculture Officer informed the farmers that 3,590 metric tons of urea are currently available at sales centers, ensuring that there would be no shortage in the near future.
The program saw participation from officers of multiple agriculture-related departments, including Irrigation, Energy, Agriculture Production, Horticulture, Fisheries, Dairy Production, and Animal Husbandry. Additionally, the regional manager of Agricultural Insurance Company was present to assist farmers with insurance-related queries. During the event, issues related to the Farmer Registry and the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme were resolved on the spot, providing immediate relief and guidance to the participants.
Concluding the program, Deputy Agriculture Director of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Rajiv Kumar, thanked all farmers, officers, and staff for their participation and announced the formal closure of the event.
The initiative reflects the district administration’s commitment to supporting farmers, ensuring timely access to essential agricultural inputs, and promoting awareness of government schemes to strengthen rural livelihoods.
