Noida Authority Launches 7-Day ‘Naari Leads Swachhata’ Campaign at Shilp Haat on International Women’s Day

On March 9, 2026, following the directions of the Chief Executive Officer, the Noida Authority inaugurated a seven-day initiative titled ‘Naari Leads Swachhata’ at Shilp Haat, Sector-33A to mark International Women’s Day 2026. The programme was formally launched by Additional Chief Executive Officer Vandana Tripathi.

During the inauguration, Vandana Tripathi highlighted the themes of the seven-day ‘Naari Leads Swachhata’ campaign and emphasized the importance of women’s leadership in promoting cleanliness and community participation. She also spoke about women’s empowerment and the vital role women play in strengthening sanitation efforts and sustainable waste management in urban areas.

Health Check-up Camp for Women Sanitation Workers

During the programme, Vandana Tripathi encouraged all women sanitation-related employees working with the Noida Authority to undergo regular health check-ups. To support this initiative, Felix Hospital organized a special health camp for women sanitation workers participating in the event.

Around 450 women sanitation workers underwent health check-ups during the camp. The initiative aimed to ensure better health awareness and preventive care for women working in sanitation services, who play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness across the city.

In addition to the health camp, a Zumba fitness session was also organized as part of physical exercise activities for women employees. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from special guests as well as women employees working with the Noida Authority.

Awareness Activities Under Swachh Survekshan

As part of the Swachh Survekshan initiative organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, awareness activities were conducted during the programme to promote cleanliness among citizens.

A street play (nukkad natak) was performed to motivate people to adopt cleaner practices and contribute actively to maintaining hygiene in their surroundings. The performance effectively communicated the importance of waste management, public participation, and sustainable sanitation practices.

In addition, exhibitions showcasing products made by Self-Help Groups (SHGs) were also organized during the event. These included items such as recycled plastic products, compost products, and upcycled crafts, highlighting the concept of sustainable resource utilization and waste management.

Women Achievers Honoured

During the event, several women who have played a significant role in maintaining cleanliness across the Noida region were honoured for their dedication and service.

Women sanitation workers Sudha Devi, Reena, Shanti Devi, Vimlesh Sonu, Savita, and Omvati were recognized for their important contribution to sanitation work.

Apart from them, women who have demonstrated excellence in various fields were also honoured. These included Ranu Kadla, Anita Joshi, Garima Tripathi, Geeta Nath, Shreya Sharma, Anjali Sachdeva, Namita Chaube, Kavita Jeemal, Ramita Taneja, Maya Kulshreshtha, Dr. Anupama Bisaria, and Anita Arora.

Commitment to Women-Led Cleanliness Initiatives

The Noida Authority reiterated its commitment to promoting women’s leadership in sanitation and cleanliness initiatives. Officials emphasized that women have been at the forefront of driving community awareness and sustainable practices, making them key partners in achieving the goals of urban cleanliness.

At the conclusion of the programme, all guests and participants took a pledge for cleanliness and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting sanitation initiatives across the city.

Additional Chief Executive Officer Vandana Tripathi expressed gratitude to all guests, participants, and organizers for their active participation and support, marking the successful conclusion of the event.
