The Agriculture Department in Gautam Buddh Nagar has successfully completed the e-lottery process for selecting beneficiaries under the Dhaincha Scheme and Urad Mini Kit Scheme. The digital draw was conducted under the supervision of district officials to ensure complete transparency and fair distribution of agricultural benefits among eligible farmers.
According to officials from the district agriculture department, farmers had submitted applications online through the departmental portal for both schemes. Due to the number of applications exceeding the available targets, authorities adopted the e-lottery system to finalize the list of selected beneficiaries in a transparent manner.
Under the Dhaincha Scheme, the district received a target allocation for 300 farmers. However, a total of 390 farmers registered through the online portal, making a lottery process necessary. Similarly, under the Urad Mini Kit Scheme, 26 farmers applied against the available target of 25 seed kits. Following the digital selection process, the final beneficiary list was prepared under official supervision.
Agriculture officials stated that farmers selected through the lottery will be able to collect Dhaincha seeds and Urad mini kits from designated seed warehouses within one week. The department has already informed the concerned warehouses to ensure smooth and timely distribution.
The rising number of applications for both schemes reflects growing awareness among farmers regarding modern agricultural practices and government-supported farming initiatives. Officials noted that farmers in Gautam Buddh Nagar are increasingly participating in schemes aimed at improving soil fertility, boosting productivity, and encouraging sustainable agriculture.
The Dhaincha Scheme has been designed to promote green manure farming practices. Dhaincha is considered highly beneficial for naturally improving soil fertility because it increases organic matter content in the soil. Agricultural experts believe that cultivating Dhaincha can help reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers while improving long-term soil health and crop productivity.
Experts also pointed out that green manure crops like Dhaincha improve moisture retention capacity and enhance soil structure, making farming more sustainable and cost-effective for farmers. The scheme is expected to encourage more cultivators to adopt eco-friendly farming methods across the district.
Meanwhile, the Urad Mini Kit Scheme focuses on promoting pulse cultivation by providing farmers with quality seed varieties and technical support. Pulse production remains an important priority in Indian agriculture because pulses contribute significantly to food security and nutritional requirements.
Agricultural experts believe that providing farmers with improved seed varieties at the right time can help increase production while reducing cultivation costs. Better seed quality often results in improved crop yields, disease resistance, and higher market value for farmers.
Officials stated that the use of the e-lottery system ensured fairness and minimized the chances of disputes during beneficiary selection. Progressive farmers and departmental representatives were also present during the process to maintain transparency and public confidence.
According to the agriculture department, digital systems are making government schemes more accessible to farmers. The online registration process has simplified applications and reduced paperwork, enabling farmers to apply directly through official portals without unnecessary delays.
The department further stated that maintaining digital records of beneficiaries will help ensure proper monitoring and accountability during scheme implementation. Officials believe that technology-driven systems are improving efficiency in agricultural welfare programs across the district.
Agriculture authorities in Gautam Buddh Nagar also highlighted that such initiatives are part of broader efforts to encourage sustainable farming and strengthen agricultural productivity. Government-backed programs focusing on soil health improvement, quality seeds, and scientific farming practices are gradually gaining popularity among local farmers.
Experts believe the combined impact of green manure promotion and pulse cultivation support could benefit the district’s agricultural economy in the long term. Improved soil fertility through Dhaincha cultivation and higher pulse production through quality Urad seeds may help farmers increase productivity while maintaining ecological balance.
Selected farmers have been instructed to collect their allotted seeds from designated warehouses within the stipulated timeline. Officials confirmed that the distribution process will be conducted in an organized and time-bound manner to avoid inconvenience to beneficiaries.
The successful implementation of the e-lottery process in Gautam Buddh Nagar is being viewed as a significant step toward transparent and technology-based agricultural governance. Officials indicated that more farmer-centric schemes may be introduced in the future to promote sustainable agriculture and improve the overall income and productivity of farmers across the district.
