A dispute broke out at Ajnara Homes Society located under Bisrakh police station limits in Greater Noida over walking a pet dog without a muzzle. The incident led to a heated argument between residents and the dog owner, following which a written complaint was lodged with the police.
According to information received, a resident of Tower N in the society was walking his pet dog near Tower L without putting a muzzle on the animal. Allegedly, several stray dogs gathered behind the pet dog during the walk. This created panic among residents present in the park area, particularly a woman who was there with children.
Residents Object to Violation of Rules
When other residents objected to the violation of mandatory pet rules and requested the dog owner to comply with safety norms, an argument ensued. Witnesses stated that instead of resolving the matter amicably, the dog owner entered into a verbal altercation with those raising concerns.
A video of the incident has also surfaced on social media and is reportedly going viral. The footage shows an exchange of heated words between the two sides.
Local resident Chandan Sinha stated that the increasing number of stray dogs within the premises, along with negligence in following pet safety rules, has made children feel unsafe. He alleged that despite rising incidents of dog bites, mandatory guidelines such as using a muzzle and leash are not being strictly followed.
Residents expressed concern that such negligence could lead to serious incidents, especially in common areas where children frequently play.
Similar Incident Reported; Complaint Filed
In a similar case, another individual was seen walking a dog without a muzzle in the society. When questioned by residents about the safety norms, he reportedly began arguing.
Following the incidents, a complaint has been filed at the Cherry County police outpost. Residents have urged authorities to ensure strict enforcement of pet-related rules within residential societies to prevent further disputes and ensure the safety of all residents.
The matter is now under police consideration, and further action is expected based on the complaint filed.
