New Delhi, December 29, 2025:
In a strong reaffirmation of its zero-tolerance policy against corruption, the Government of Delhi has taken decisive action against officials accused of misconduct and dereliction of duty. Acting on the direct instructions of Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, the Sub-Registrar of Kapashera and the Tehsildar of Mehrauli have been suspended with immediate effect. The action comes in response to multiple complaints and serious allegations of corruption and obstruction of public services.
The Chief Minister also ordered the cancellation of the license of a deed writer posted at Kapashera, further reinforcing the government’s commitment to clean and transparent administration. The action has been taken after careful examination of complaints received from the public, which pointed towards irregularities, delays in work, and misuse of official position by the concerned officials.
Speaking on the matter, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made it clear that the Delhi Government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, especially in departments that deal directly with citizens. She stated that officers entrusted with public responsibilities must uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability. Any deviation from these principles will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the revenue department plays a crucial role in citizens’ daily lives, as it deals with land records, registrations, property transactions, and other essential services. Any form of corruption or negligence in such departments directly affects the common man and erodes public trust. She stated that her government would not allow any official to misuse their authority or harass citizens for personal gain.
“The people of Delhi have elected us with the hope that their work will be done smoothly and without corruption. If any officer becomes an obstacle in delivering public services, strict action will be taken against them without hesitation,” said Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. She further added that honesty, sensitivity, and accountability are non-negotiable qualities for any government servant.
The suspension of the Sub-Registrar of Kapashera and the Tehsildar of Mehrauli is being seen as a strong message to all departments that corruption or inefficiency will not be tolerated at any level. The cancellation of the deed writer’s license in Kapashera further underlines the seriousness of the government’s stand against malpractice in land and property-related matters.
The Chief Minister also stated that this action should be seen as a warning and a precedent. Any official found indulging in corrupt practices or creating unnecessary hurdles for the public will face strict disciplinary measures. The government will not hesitate to initiate suspensions, departmental inquiries, or legal proceedings wherever required.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to clean governance, Smt. Rekha Gupta said that the objective of her administration is to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in every department. She asserted that the fight against corruption is continuous and that the government is strengthening monitoring mechanisms to identify and eliminate corrupt practices at the grassroots level.
She also instructed senior officials to remain vigilant and responsive to public grievances. Special emphasis has been laid on quick redressal of complaints related to revenue services, registration, and land records, as these areas directly affect the lives of ordinary citizens.
The Chief Minister concluded by stating that the Delhi Government is fully committed to protecting public interest and restoring people’s faith in governance. Any officer or intermediary found guilty of wrongdoing will not be spared, irrespective of rank or position. The government will continue to take firm and transparent actions to ensure that public services are delivered efficiently and without corruption.
