With the objective of strengthening disaster preparedness and response mechanisms at the district level, the State Disaster Management Authority, Uttar Pradesh, under its flagship Aapda Mitra Project, has initiated the selection process for 19 remaining volunteers from Gautam Buddh Nagar district. Eligible candidates are invited to submit their applications through the offline mode.
According to Atul Kumar, Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue), the selected volunteers will undergo a 12-day intensive training programme from 17 February 2026 to 28 February 2026 at the Headquarters of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. The training will focus on disaster preparedness, emergency response, search and rescue operations, first aid, community coordination, and disaster risk reduction techniques.
He further informed that the entire training programme will be fully sponsored by the SDRF, including accommodation, meals, training materials, and travel expenses. No fee or monetary charge will be levied on the selected candidates at any stage. Registration, enrolment, and other formalities of selected volunteers will be completed through the designated online portal as per state guidelines.
Elaborating on eligibility criteria, the Additional District Magistrate stated that applicants must be between 18 and 40 years of age. However, a relaxation of up to five years in the upper age limit will be provided to ex-servicemen, retired medical personnel, and engineers. Candidates must be permanent residents of Gautam Buddh Nagar district and should have passed at least Class 7.
Applicants must be physically, mentally, and emotionally fit, and submission of a valid medical fitness certificate will be mandatory. Attributes such as quick decision-making ability, teamwork, and a strong sense of public service will be given due importance during the selection process.
Preference will be accorded to candidates associated with fire services, civil defence, home guards, and ex-servicemen. Individuals with prior experience in disaster management, rescue operations, or swimming skills will be given additional weightage. Participation of women volunteers will be actively encouraged to ensure inclusive representation in disaster response efforts.
Interested and eligible candidates fulfilling all prescribed criteria and belonging to Gautam Buddh Nagar district may submit their application forms on or before 12 February 2026 at the District Disaster Management Authority Office, Room No. 203, Collectorate Complex. Timely submission of applications is essential to complete the selection process efficiently and ensure that selected volunteers are deputed for training as scheduled.
