New Delhi, March 15, 2026:
A fitness event titled “Sunday on Cycle” will be organized in New Delhi on March 15 as part of the Fit India Movement, an initiative of the Government of India aimed at encouraging citizens to adopt a healthier and more active lifestyle. The event will take place at Connaught Place, Block E, and is expected to bring together fitness enthusiasts, cyclists, and members of the public to promote the importance of physical activity.
The program is being organized in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India, Raahgiri Foundation, and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). Through this initiative, the organizers aim to spread awareness about the benefits of regular exercise and highlight cycling as an accessible and effective way to maintain physical fitness and overall well-being.
Delhi’s Education and Sports Minister Ashish Sood will participate in the event and interact with attendees. Officials stated that the minister’s presence is intended to encourage greater public participation and reinforce the message of maintaining an active lifestyle.
The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 AM on March 15, 2026, at Connaught Place, Block E, a prominent public space in the heart of the national capital. Organizers expect participation from citizens across age groups who are interested in promoting a culture of fitness and healthy living.
The Fit India Movement, launched by the Government of India, focuses on encouraging people to incorporate physical activity into their daily routines. Programs such as “Sunday on Cycle” aim to make fitness activities accessible and engaging for the public while also raising awareness about the importance of maintaining good health.
According to organizers, cycling has been chosen as the central activity for the event because it is a simple, low-cost, and environmentally friendly form of exercise that can be easily adopted by individuals of all age groups. Cycling not only helps improve cardiovascular health and physical fitness but also promotes sustainable transportation practices.
Officials involved in the event said that collaboration with organizations such as the Sports Authority of India and the Raahgiri Foundation will help ensure a well-organized fitness initiative that encourages community participation. The involvement of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) also reflects the broader effort to bring together multiple institutions in support of public awareness initiatives.
During the event, participants will have the opportunity to cycle through the designated area while engaging with fitness advocates and fellow participants who share a common interest in promoting healthy living. The program aims to create an encouraging environment where individuals can experience the benefits of physical activity in a social and supportive setting.
Organizers emphasized that the event is part of ongoing efforts to build a stronger culture of fitness in urban communities. Encouraging citizens to take part in regular physical activities such as cycling can contribute to improved health outcomes and greater awareness about lifestyle-related diseases.
The event also highlights the importance of community-driven initiatives in promoting wellness and active living. By organizing activities in prominent public spaces like Connaught Place, authorities hope to attract wider participation and inspire more people to incorporate fitness into their daily routines.
Officials have invited members of the public and media representatives to attend the event and participate in the initiative. Through programs like “Sunday on Cycle,” the government and partner organizations aim to inspire individuals to adopt healthier habits and build a more active society.
