Greater Noida residents and booth level officers (BLOs) have welcomed the extension of the deadline for filing forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme. The new deadline, now extended to 11 December, has eased the pressure on both voters and officials as verification camps continue across multiple sectors. Camps held in Sector Beta-1 and Delta-2 saw residents updating addresses, reporting deleted names and flagging suspicious or duplicate voter entries. BLO teams assisted visitors throughout the process, resolving complaints and removing names of deceased voters from the rolls.
Residents Report Errors, BLOs Address Complaints at Sector Camps
Under the extended SIR schedule, voters arrived at the Sector Beta-1 community centre with their documents and filled out required forms. BLO Rajni provided information to residents about the form-filling process, clarifying doubts about address updates and deleted names. Several residents also disclosed instances of suspicious or incorrect voter entries at their addresses. All complaints were registered and resolved on the spot by the BLO team.
RWA general secretary Harendra Bhati appreciated the BLO staff, stating that they took every complaint seriously and assured thorough verification. The process of removing names of deceased voters and eliminating duplicate registrations recorded at multiple locations was also completed. Sector residents highlighted that the cooperation between the RWA and BLOs made the form-filling process smooth and efficient.
BLOs Flag Issues of Missing Voters, Duplicate Verification and Wrong Addresses
In Delta-2, a separate camp was organised where BLOs assisted people in updating their voter details. RWA representatives, including general secretary Alok Nagar, helped coordinate the process and ensured that residents’ problems were promptly addressed. However, officials noted persistent challenges — several forms showed voter addresses where the individuals no longer reside, making verification difficult.
BLOs further pointed out that some voters are getting their SIR verification completed at a different address or location but are not informing their original BLO. This lack of communication is causing complications in completing the verification process on time.
Despite the difficulties, officials stressed that the extended deadline has provided much-needed breathing room to manage the heavy load of corrections and verifications. Meanwhile, residents expressed hope that the continued cooperation between RWAs and BLO staff will ensure cleaner and more accurate voter lists ahead of the next electoral cycle.
