Noida authorities have intensified the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign aimed at verifying and updating the voter list across the district. As part of the outreach, a district administration team visited the Dainik Jagran headquarters in Sector 63 on Tuesday, where officials explained the SIR process to employees and assisted them in filling out necessary forms. The administration’s objective is to prepare an accurate, error-free voter list ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle. Officials have also sought cooperation from house owners to help verify tenants, while encouraging voters to submit their forms online for faster processing.
Officials Target 100% Verification Before December 11, Focus on Eliminating Ineligible Voters
ADM (Gautam Buddh Nagar) Manglesh Dubey stated that Noida currently has more than seven lakh registered voters, and the administration is working toward 100% SIR verification before 11 December. According to district officials, the aim is to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the updated list. At the same time, the administration is identifying and removing ineligible entries such as duplicate voters, individuals who have shifted addresses permanently, deceased voters and migrants whose identities could not be verified.
During the awareness session at the Jagran office, Sector Magistrate Shalabh Rathi, Supervisor Rakesh Nagar and BLO Jagdish Babu guided employees through the SIR documentation process. Officials emphasised the need for public cooperation, noting that voter list purification can be completed only with collective participation of residents and organisations.
District Magistrate Medha Rupam has instructed teams to give priority to accurate verification, stressing that the SIR campaign is crucial for maintaining a transparent electoral process. Officials are conducting door-to-door verification in several localities, but challenges persist—especially in rental accommodations where tenants are often unavailable during visits.
Tenant Verification Remains a Major Challenge; Administration Appeals for Support
District authorities highlighted that tenant verification is proving to be one of the most difficult aspects of the SIR campaign. In many villages and urban pockets, BLOs are unable to meet tenants even after multiple visits. At several locations, house owners are unable to provide verified details of the people living on their property, slowing down the verification process.
To address this, the administration has appealed to house owners to proactively assist BLOs and provide accurate information about tenants. Officials said that voters who are unable to meet BLOs in person can visit their designated polling centres, where contact details of BLOs are displayed. Voters may also share required documents directly with BLOs over phone or messaging apps to complete SIR verification efficiently.
BLOs have additionally reported difficulties in locating addresses that are either incomplete or incorrect in the records. Residents have been asked to visit polling centres between 10 am and 4 pm to resolve such issues. Authorities emphasised the importance of using the Election Commission’s official portal — voters.eci.gov.in — where citizens can fill out various forms digitally.
Young voters turning 18 can apply for inclusion in the voter list by submitting Form-6, while those shifting homes within or outside the district can use Form-7 to remove their earlier registration. Any corrections, including spelling or address updates, can be made using Form-8, which can be submitted online.
The administration reiterated that public cooperation will be the key to ensuring a complete and accurate voter list under the SIR programme.
