Gautam Buddh Nagar, 26 January 2026

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated across the district with great dignity, enthusiasm, and patriotic fervour. The District Magistrate, Medha Rupam, presided over the flag hoisting ceremony at the Collectorate complex, followed by the national anthem sung collectively by all officials and employees. Thereafter, the DM administered the oath to officials and staff, reaffirming their commitment to the Constitution and emphasizing integrity, duty, and faithful discharge of responsibilities.

During the ceremony, the DM honoured freedom fighter Swargiya Shivnarayan Gupta’s daughter Sandhya Goyal, Naib Subedar Ranjit Singh, Warrant Officer Devraj Singh Nagar, and the spouse of Kargil martyr Swargiya Narendra Bhati, Suresh Devi, with floral garlands and shawls. Their invaluable contributions and unwavering dedication to the nation were remembered on this occasion.

Cultural performances by students of Dharm Public School added vibrancy to the celebrations, which were enthusiastically received and applauded by the audience.

Following the cultural segment, an interactive session on the Indian Constitution was conducted under the DM’s guidance, ably coordinated by Chief Administrative Officer Anurag Saraswat. During the session, the DM highlighted that the Constitution, which came into force on 26 January 1950, has provided India with a sovereign, democratic, and empowered framework. She emphasized the Constitution’s universal values of equality, justice, and fraternity, noting that it unites citizens and is recognized worldwide for its comprehensiveness.

The DM urged all officials and employees to perform their duties with dedication, prioritize public service, and ensure that welfare schemes reach the intended beneficiaries effectively. She also paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs, affirming that the nation will never forget their ultimate sacrifice.

Under the DM’s leadership, all government offices and schools across the district also celebrated Republic Day with patriotic zeal and festive spirit.

Present on the occasion were Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Manglesh Dubey, ADM L.A. Bachchu Singh, ADM Judicial Priyanka, Senior Finance Officer Shikha Gupta, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Arvind Kumar, Deputy Collector Ved Prakash Pandey, Nominated Officer Sarvesh Mishra, and other officials along with staff of the Collectorate complex.
