The countdown for the country’s first Sun mission, Aditya L-1, has started. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said on Friday that India’s first solar mission, Aditya L-1, will be launched on Saturday, September 2, at 11.50 a.m. from Sriharikota Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh. ISRO has also shared information about those platforms where the launch of Aditya L-1 can be watched live from 11:20 a.m. on Saturday.

Before the launch of Aditya L-1, a team of ISRO scientists reached Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Temple on Friday with the model of the Aditya-L-1 mission to offer prayers and pray for the success of the mission. Earlier, ISRO chief S. Somnath said on Thursday that the rehearsal of this mission has also been done successfully. Now, complete preparations have been made for the launch of this mission. Under this mission, ISRO will study the sun and try to know the secrets related to it.

Features of Aditya L1:

Like the Chandrayaan-3 mission, the Aditya L-1 mission too, after launch, will first revolve around the Earth’s orbit, travel a distance of 15 lakh kilometres, and reach the L1 point of the Sun. Circulating at this point, Aditya-L-1 will research the rays emanating from the outermost layer of the sun, i.e., the corona.

It is noteworthy that India has prepared it on a very low budget compared to the Surya Mission in other countries. The cost of the Aditya L-1 mission is Rs 380 crore. The total cost of the space mission sent by NASA was Rs 12,000 crore.

According to scientists, under this mission, ISRO will investigate the atmosphere around the corona, the outer layer of the sun. Apart from this, it will also study flares, chromospheric, and coronal heating emanating from the sun. Will also investigate the air around the sun and its composition. The sun is 109 times more massive than the earth.
