Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hoisted the national flag and took the salute at the state-level Republic Day ceremony held at Chhatrasal Stadium in Model Town on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister extended Republic Day greetings to the nation and the people of Delhi, reiterating the government’s unwavering commitment to the Constitution, democratic values and national unity. 
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister presented her government’s 11-month report card, highlighting achievements in education, health, green energy, infrastructure and other key governance sectors. On the occasion, personnel from Delhi Police, Fire Services and other departments who demonstrated exemplary dedication and courage in the line of duty were honoured with medals. The programme also featured vibrant cultural performances showcasing India’s diversity and patriotic spirit.
In her address, the Chief Minister said that January 26 symbolises India’s self-respect, democratic consciousness and resolve for complete sovereignty. Paying tribute to freedom fighters and martyrs, she expressed gratitude to the makers of the Constitution, especially Bharat Ratna B R Ambedkar. She described 2025–26 as a significant year linked to national memories and inspiration. Referring to Delhi’s historical significance, she said the capital reflects the soul of India and is steadily moving towards the goal of a developed Delhi in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision 2047. She stated that over the past 11 months, the Delhi government has taken several public welfare decisions rooted in constitutional values and the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”.
Speaking on welfare initiatives for the underprivileged, the Chief Minister highlighted steps taken under the 3-A Health Model, including Atal Canteens, implementation of Ayushman Bharat, expansion of digital health services, establishment of new hospitals, deployment of ambulances and recruitment of doctors and nurses. In the education sector, she outlined increased budget allocation, development of smart schools, fee regulation measures, scholarships, laptop distribution schemes and the upcoming education hub in Narela, describing these initiatives as crucial to making Delhi a capital of ideas and innovation.
She also shared updates on sports development, stating that Delhi now offers the highest incentive amounts for sportspersons in the country. Highlighting infrastructure development, the Chief Minister spoke about increased capital expenditure, the target of 100 percent electric buses, metro expansion and promotion of green transport initiatives. She further referred to social security schemes for women, workers and vulnerable sections, the Safe City Project, judicial reforms and ongoing urban development works.
Describing economic growth, ease of doing business, MSME support, environmental protection and Yamuna rejuvenation as top government priorities, the Chief Minister appealed to citizens to adopt cleanliness, protect the environment and use public transport. Concluding her address, she lauded the contributions of police personnel, NCC cadets and sanitation workers, stating that with the collective efforts of the government and citizens, Delhi will soon establish itself as a model capital defined by dignity, peace and equal opportunities.
