New Delhi, January 22, 2026:
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday participated in a nine-day Ram Katha organised at Bharat Mandapam, where she delivered a message of world peace and announced the dedication of her one month’s salary to the World Peace Centre Mission. The Ram Katha is being delivered by renowned spiritual orator Morari Bapu and has drawn devotees from across India and abroad.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Morari Bapu’s Ram Katha conveys the timeless values of service, compassion, and moral discipline, which form the foundation of a strong and harmonious nation. She described the discourse as a source of spiritual strength and ethical guidance that inspires individuals to contribute positively to society.
The Chief Minister noted that the Ram Katha is being organised under the guidance of Lokesh Muni, and said such initiatives reinforce India’s cultural consciousness and the tradition of non-violence. She added that institutions associated with the programme have been consistently engaged in service-oriented and public welfare activities, which motivated her to contribute personally to the cause of global peace.
Announcing her decision, Rekha Gupta said she would dedicate her one month’s salary to the World Peace Centre Mission. She described the gesture as a humble expression of her social responsibility and commitment to humanitarian values. According to her, peace, compassion, and service are not just spiritual ideals but essential principles for building a stable and inclusive society.
Former President of India and chairman of the organising committee Ram Nath Kovind praised the Chief Minister’s decision, calling it an inspiring example of leadership rooted in values. He said that dedicating one month’s salary to the World Peace Mission reflects a deep sense of commitment to social harmony and global welfare.
Kovind added that the Ram Katha programme has emerged as a powerful medium not only for spiritual awakening but also for social awareness. He said such events help bridge spiritual thought with contemporary challenges and encourage people to work collectively for peace and social good.
Earlier, on the sixth day of the Ram Katha, Morari Bapu addressed devotees from various parts of India as well as from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. In his discourse, he said that Sanatan Dharma is eternal and universal, transcending boundaries of geography and time. He emphasised that its core values continue to guide humanity toward truth, compassion, and harmony.
During the programme, Morari Bapu invited Lokesh Muni to the dais and extended his blessings, highlighting the shared spiritual heritage and mutual respect among different traditions. He also expressed happiness over the Delhi Chief Minister’s resolve to clean the Yamuna River at the earliest, describing it as an important step toward environmental responsibility and spiritual duty.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Member of Parliament from North East Delhi Manoj Tiwari, along with other prominent personalities from social, cultural, and spiritual fields. A large number of devotees attended the Ram Katha, reflecting its wide appeal and significance.
The nine-day Ram Katha has been organised with the objective of promoting world peace, harmony, and ethical values through spiritual discourse. Organisers said the programme seeks to remind people of the relevance of India’s spiritual traditions in addressing modern-day challenges such as conflict, intolerance, and social division.
Concluding her address, the Chief Minister reiterated that messages of service and compassion delivered from platforms like the Ram Katha are essential for nurturing peace at both individual and societal levels. She said the government and society must work together to uphold moral values and ensure that development is guided by humanity and empathy.
The programme continues to attract devotees and thinkers alike, serving as a confluence of spirituality, culture, and social commitment, while reinforcing the message that peace and compassion remain the true foundations of a progressive nation.
