Noida:
Panic gripped Noida on Wednesday after as many as 20 schools in the city received bomb threat messages, prompting immediate action by the police and school authorities. Following the alerts, extensive security checks were carried out with the help of bomb disposal squads and dog squads. After thorough inspections, officials confirmed that the threat was fake and no explosive materials were found at any of the school premises.
According to initial information, the bomb threat messages were received by multiple schools in Noida within a short span of time. As soon as the information came to light, school administrations informed the police and alerted parents as a precautionary measure. Given the seriousness of the threat, authorities acted swiftly to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Immediate Evacuation and Safety Measures
Upon receiving the threat, schools immediately suspended classes and initiated emergency protocols. Parents were informed without delay and asked to reach the schools. Once parents arrived, students were safely handed over to them and sent home. School premises were either partially or completely vacated to facilitate a detailed security inspection.
Police teams reached the affected schools promptly and cordoned off the areas to prevent any untoward incident. Bomb disposal squads and dog squads were deployed to conduct systematic searches of classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and other areas within the school campuses. In several schools, entry of outsiders was restricted until the security checks were completed.
Police Investigation and Search Operations
Senior police officials said that each school mentioned in the threat message was checked thoroughly as per standard operating procedures. The bomb disposal teams examined suspicious areas, while dog squads scanned the premises for any sign of explosives. Fire department teams and local police personnel also remained on standby during the operation.
After hours of inspection, police confirmed that no explosives or suspicious objects were found in any of the schools. Preliminary investigation indicated that the threat was a hoax, intended to create panic and disrupt normal functioning.
Police officials stated that although the threat turned out to be fake, it was treated with utmost seriousness in view of student safety. “We cannot afford to take any risk when it comes to the security of children. All necessary checks were carried out as per protocol,” an officer said.
Parents and Students in Panic
The bomb threat caused anxiety among parents and students alike. Many parents rushed to schools after receiving calls from the administration, fearing for their children’s safety. Several schools witnessed scenes of confusion as parents gathered at the gates to take their children home.
Some parents expressed concern over repeated hoax threats targeting educational institutions and demanded strict action against those responsible. “Such fake threats create unnecessary panic and put children under stress. The culprits must be identified and punished,” a parent said.
Schools Resume After Clearance
Following the completion of security checks and clearance from the police, schools informed parents that the threat was false. Authorities said that further instructions regarding the resumption of classes would be communicated by individual schools.
In the meantime, police have stepped up vigilance around educational institutions across Noida as a precautionary measure. Patrolling has been increased in sensitive areas to reassure parents and school authorities.
Efforts to Trace the Source of the Threat
Police have launched an investigation to trace the source of the bomb threat messages. Cyber crime teams are examining emails and other digital clues to identify the sender. Officials said strict action would be taken against those found responsible for issuing fake threats and causing public panic.
Senior officers emphasized that making hoax bomb threats is a serious criminal offence and warned that legal action would follow once the accused are identified. “We urge people not to spread rumours or false information. Such acts can have serious consequences,” a police official said.
Authorities Appeal for Calm
The police appealed to citizens to remain calm and cooperate with authorities. They reiterated that the situation was under control and there was no danger to students or staff. Officials also assured that security arrangements around schools would continue to be reviewed to prevent any future incidents.
The incident has once again highlighted the need for strict monitoring and swift action against those who misuse digital platforms to spread fear. While normalcy gradually returned after the clearance, the hoax threat left parents and schools shaken, reinforcing the importance of robust security and prompt response mechanisms.
