Gautam Buddh Nagar | March 22, 2026 — The District Agriculture Protection Officer Vivek Dubey has made it mandatory for all pesticide dealers in the district to register on the Government of India’s Integrated Pesticides Management System (IPMS) portal to ensure the availability of quality pesticides to farmers.
Mandatory Registration on IPMS Portal
The official informed that registration on the IPMS portal is compulsory for all dealers involved in the purchase and sale of pesticides. The initiative aims to ensure transparency and maintain the quality of pesticides being supplied to farmers.
Despite repeated instructions, many dealers have not yet completed their registration, even after sufficient time has been provided.
High Priority for Government Monitoring
The registration process has been categorized as a priority task by the government, and its progress is being regularly monitored by senior authorities. Dealers have been urged to comply immediately to avoid strict action.
Instructions to Update Stock Details
Dealers have been directed to:
Register on the IPMS portal without delay
Upload detailed stock information available at their firms
Provide data category-wise, including chemical-wise and company-wise details
This step is intended to streamline inventory tracking and ensure proper regulation of pesticide distribution.
Approval Mandatory for Future Procurement
Officials stated that any future purchase or order of pesticides must be made only after obtaining approval through the IPMS portal. Dealers will be allowed to procure stock only from authorized pesticide manufacturing companies after departmental clearance on the portal.
Strict Action for Non-Compliance
The department has clearly warned that any dealer found purchasing or selling pesticides without registration or approval on the IPMS portal will be considered in violation of the Insecticides Act, 1968.
In such cases:
The dealer’s license may be suspended or cancelled
Sale of pesticides may be prohibited
Action may also be taken against the concerned manufacturing company
The entire responsibility for such violations will lie with the concerned dealer and company.
Final Opportunity for Compliance
The District Agriculture Protection Officer has given dealers a final opportunity to complete registration and comply with the guidelines immediately to avoid legal and administrative action.
