Gautam Buddh Nagar, April 30, 2026:
In a major step toward strengthening healthcare access for workers, the district administration has announced the organisation of a large-scale Mega Health Camp on May 1, 2026, on the occasion of Labour Day. The initiative is being conducted under the directions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with the objective of providing accessible, comprehensive, and free healthcare services to workers across the district.
The Mega Health Camp will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and is expected to be one of the largest coordinated public health drives in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The administration has designed this initiative to ensure that workers, especially those in labour-intensive sectors, receive timely medical attention without financial burden or logistical challenges.
Initially, the campaign was planned with participation from all government hospitals along with 31 private hospitals. However, the scale of the initiative has expanded significantly due to voluntary participation from the private healthcare sector. Several leading hospitals have come forward to support the campaign, including Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital, Max Hospital, Medanta Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Felix Hospital, and Sharda Hospital, among others.
With this increased participation, the Mega Health Camp will now be organised at a total of 201 locations across the district. These include 134 government hospitals and Health and Wellness Centres, along with 67 private hospitals. This wide network of centres is expected to significantly improve accessibility, ensuring that workers can avail healthcare services near their residences or workplaces.
Officials stated that the initiative is aimed at delivering a wide range of medical services free of cost. These include general health check-ups, specialist consultations, diagnostic services, and treatment. The focus is on providing comprehensive care, including preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, and necessary medical interventions.
The administration highlighted that many workers often face challenges in accessing healthcare due to work commitments, financial limitations, or lack of nearby facilities. By organising the Mega Health Camp at multiple locations, the administration aims to eliminate these barriers and ensure maximum participation.
The growing involvement of private hospitals has been described as a strong example of corporate social responsibility and public-private collaboration. Authorities noted that this partnership will enhance both the reach and quality of healthcare services provided during the campaign.
Officials have also emphasized the importance of awareness and participation. Industrial units, employers, and local representatives have been encouraged to inform workers about the Mega Health Camp and motivate them to take advantage of the free services. Special efforts are being made to ensure that workers from all sectors, including informal and migrant labour, are included.
The Mega Health Camp is part of a broader strategy to improve worker welfare in the district. Along with healthcare services, the administration has been focusing on initiatives related to skill development, social security, and access to government welfare schemes. The Labour Day campaign is expected to serve as a key platform for integrating these efforts and delivering benefits directly to the target population.
Authorities have assured that proper arrangements are being made at all centres to ensure smooth functioning of the camps. This includes availability of medical staff, necessary equipment, medicines, and support services. Monitoring mechanisms are also being put in place to ensure quality and efficiency in service delivery.
The administration believes that such large-scale initiatives not only improve immediate healthcare access but also contribute to long-term public health outcomes by promoting awareness, early detection, and preventive care.
With participation from both government and private healthcare institutions, the Mega Health Camp is expected to benefit a large number of workers and set a benchmark for similar initiatives in the future.
Officials have urged all eligible beneficiaries to visit their nearest centre on May 1 and take full advantage of the free healthcare services being provided under this initiative.
