On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a series of sports competitions were organized under the ASMITA League of the Sports Authority of India to encourage participation of girls and women in sports activities.
The competitions were held at the District Sports Stadium in Malkpur Surajpur and were organized by My Bharat Gautam Buddh Nagar in coordination with the district sports office and the education department.

Various sporting events were conducted during the program, including 100 meter, 200 meter and 400 meter races along with badminton and tug of war competitions. Participants competed in three different age categories including under 13 years, 13 to 18 years and 18 years and above.
In the 100 meter race, Shireen, Misbah and Alfiza secured top positions in the under 13 category. In the 13 to 18 age group, Asma, Abha and Bhavana delivered outstanding performances to win their respective positions. In the 18 plus category, Monika, Aastha and Jhanvi emerged as winners.
In the 200 meter race, Sanjana, Mizrah, Shahjahan, Nayasha, Soni, Bhumi, Monika, Mansi and Suhana performed exceptionally well and secured winning positions.
Similarly, in the 400 meter race, Ayesha, Ikra, Asmeen, Shreshtha, Sonia, Sejal, Monika, Ritika and Harshita displayed impressive performances and claimed victory in their respective categories.
At the conclusion of the competitions, all winning participants were honored with medals, certificates and trophies in recognition of their achievements and sporting spirit.

During the event, Youth Welfare and PRD Officer Mahipal Singh distributed certificates to the participating youth and encouraged them to continue participating in sports activities. He emphasized that such initiatives help boost confidence among girls and women and motivate them to pursue sports.
Women teachers and female coaches who have contributed significantly to promoting sports were also specially honored during the program.
Deputy Director of My Bharat Shivendra Singh encouraged the participants and thanked them for their enthusiastic participation in the league. He also expressed gratitude to the district sports department for their support in successfully organizing the event.
He highlighted that such competitions provide an important platform for girls and women to showcase their talent and inspire them to pursue sports at higher levels.
The program was attended by Farmeed Akhtar, Dinesh, Anjum, Sumit, Vijay and Balchandra along with other distinguished guests and sports enthusiasts who encouraged the participants and appreciated their performances.
