Greater Noida: In response to complaints regarding the supply of contaminated drinking water in Sector Delta One, Greater Noida, the Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Noida Authority, Sunil Kumar Singh, conducted a site inspection on Wednesday along with a team from the Water Department. The visit was aimed at assessing the situation on the ground, addressing residents’ concerns, and ensuring the restoration of clean and safe water supply in the area.
During the inspection, the ACEO personally interacted with local residents, including those who had earlier reported receiving contaminated water. According to officials, residents confirmed during the interaction that the water supply had returned to normal and that clean water was now being received in their homes. This feedback was seen as a positive outcome of the immediate corrective measures taken by the Authority.
Sunil Kumar Singh also held discussions with office bearers of the local Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) to understand the overall status of water supply in Sector Delta One. The RWA representatives expressed satisfaction with the steps taken by the Authority and acknowledged the improvement in water quality. They also appreciated the prompt response of the Water Department in addressing the issue.
As part of the follow-up action, the Greater Noida Authority collected water samples from the homes of complainants and sent them to the laboratory for detailed testing on the same day. Officials said that the sampling was done to scientifically verify the quality of water being supplied and to rule out any remaining contamination. The test reports are expected to provide further clarity and help the Authority take additional steps if required.
During the inspection and technical assessment, issues were identified at two locations where leakage in the pipeline and problems in water connections were found. Officials confirmed that these defects were rectified on Wednesday itself, ensuring that the water supply network was restored to proper working condition. The Authority stated that timely repair of these faults played a key role in resolving the issue of contaminated water.
The Water Department of the Greater Noida Authority has once again appealed to residents to immediately report any instance of contaminated water supply in the Greater Noida area. For this purpose, residents have been advised to contact the Senior Manager (Water) at 9205691408 or the Manager (Water) at 8937024017. Officials assured that any complaint received on these numbers will be addressed promptly and necessary corrective action will be taken without delay.
Meanwhile, Greater Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer N G Ravi Kumar has issued instructions to conduct random water quality testing across all areas of Greater Noida. Acting on these directions, the Water Department is preparing to carry out random sampling and testing of water supply in various sectors to ensure overall water safety and quality.
According to the Authority, in areas where water is supplied directly by the Greater Noida Authority, the responsibility of water quality testing will lie with the Authority itself. However, in builder societies and residential complexes, the responsibility of conducting water tests will rest with the respective management committees, including builders or Apartment Owners Associations. These societies will be required to submit their water testing reports to the Water Department of the Authority for review and record.
Similar instructions have also been issued for industrial, commercial, IT, and institutional areas. These establishments have been directed to ensure regular water quality testing and compliance with safety standards. The objective, officials said, is to create a comprehensive monitoring mechanism that covers all categories of water consumers in Greater Noida.
The Authority emphasized that ensuring clean and safe drinking water remains a top priority and that there will be no compromise on public health. Officials reiterated that proactive inspections, quick resolution of technical issues, and coordination with residents and RWAs are essential components of effective water supply management.
The inspection in Sector Delta One and the subsequent actions underline the Greater Noida Authority’s commitment to addressing public grievances promptly and transparently. By personally reviewing the situation, engaging with residents, and ordering broader water quality checks, the Authority has sought to reassure citizens that their concerns are being taken seriously and that sustained efforts are being made to maintain safe water supply across Greater Noida.
