Medha Rupam, District Magistrate and District Election Officer (Panchayat & Urban Bodies), informed that in compliance with the State Election Commission, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, Notification No. 354/SEC-3/P-NE/26-25/2026 dated 19 February 2026, a comprehensive revision of three-tier panchayat voter lists will be conducted across the district. This exercise is being carried out under Section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1947.

The main objective of the revision is to update the voter lists, settle claims and objections, verify potential duplicate voters, accurately map polling stations, and prepare for the upcoming panchayat elections. The District Magistrate has instructed that all stages adhere strictly to the prescribed schedule.
The revision will be executed in four primary phases. The first phase involves preparing signed manuscripts after settling claims and objections, submitting them to the office of the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, and verifying potential duplicate voters. This phase will run from 07 January 2026 to 16 March 2026.
The second phase includes computerized preparation of supplementary lists after claims and objections are resolved, integration into the main voter lists, and determination of polling stations as required. This phase will be conducted from 21 February 2026 to 16 March 2026.
The third phase involves, after computerization, allocation of polling stations, mapping of wards, sequencing of voters, SVN allocation, preparation of photo copies of voter lists, and completion of other technical tasks. This phase is scheduled from 17 March 2026 to 13 April 2026.
The fourth phase involves the final publication of the revised voter lists. The District Election Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer will ensure extensive publicity through leading local newspapers and display on office notice boards within their jurisdictions. This final publication is scheduled for 15 April 2026.
The District Magistrate clarified that offices will remain open on public holidays during the revision process, and the revision will be completed according to the prescribed schedule. Citizens will have ample opportunity to submit claims or objections during this period.
To ensure accuracy, completeness, and transparency, all officers have been instructed to promptly resolve complaints and claims. Adequate planning will be carried out regarding polling station arrangements, voter numbers, and facilities.
The overall objective of this revision is to make voter lists more accurate, fair, and transparent, thereby ensuring upcoming panchayat elections are conducted efficiently, fairly, and smoothly. All officials, staff, and citizens are urged to cooperate actively and adhere to the prescribed instructions.
