Following the high-intensity blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening, security measures have been significantly tightened across Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida). The administration has launched extensive checking drives at metro stations, markets, and crowded public places, considering the potential threat to public safety. Noida Police have set up barricades at key locations to inspect suspicious vehicles, while all security agencies have been placed on high alert. Senior police officers have been directed to enhance vigilance and ensure strict monitoring across the district.

The blast, which occurred on Monday evening, claimed eight lives and injured twenty-four people. The explosion took place at a time when the Red Fort Metro Station area was crowded with people. Since the incident, security agencies across Noida and the entire National Capital Region (NCR) have been on high alert, maintaining close surveillance in sensitive zones.

Intensive Checking at Metro Stations and Markets

Acting swiftly after the explosion, Noida Police launched large-scale security inspections at metro stations, malls, bus terminals, markets, and other densely populated areas. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Yamuna Prasad personally led foot patrols along with police teams in Sector 62 and adjoining localities to assess ground-level security arrangements. Personnel from Sector 58 police station were also part of the operation.

He instructed station in-charges to install barricades at all sensitive spots and thoroughly check suspicious vehicles and individuals. DCP Prasad further directed that no vehicle or person be allowed to pass without proper checking and that night patrolling be intensified. He personally reviewed the situation at multiple sites and instructed officers to immediately report any unusual or suspicious activity to senior officials.

In a parallel operation, DCP (Central Noida) Shakti Mohan Awasthy, along with ACP-1 Central Noida Varnika Singh, conducted comprehensive checking drives around metro stations and markets falling under the jurisdiction of the Sector 63 police station. Awasthy instructed the Station House Officer to maintain constant surveillance at metro stations, bus stops, and marketplaces and to immediately inspect any suspicious person or object.

He emphasized the need for active monitoring through CCTV cameras and directed that PCR (Police Control Room) and PRV (Police Response Vehicle) units patrol continuously in their respective zones to ensure quick response during emergencies.

Police officials confirmed that all major entry and exit points of the city have been barricaded. Special attention is being given to vehicles lacking proper documentation or showing suspicious movements.

Security Agencies on High Alert, Surveillance Strengthened on Suspicious Vehicles

Following the explosion, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has issued a district-wide alert. Apart from metro stations, checking operations have been intensified along Noida Expressway, Sector 18, Atta Market, Film City, Sector 62, Sector 63, Botanical Garden, and Kalindi Kunj Road—areas known for high public footfall.

According to officials, all police stations have been placed on high alert, and additional forces have been deployed. The Noida Police cyber team and intelligence unit have also been activated to monitor social media platforms and prevent the spread of rumors or misinformation.

Police have urged local residents to immediately report any suspicious object or person by dialing the control room number 112. Citizens have been advised to stay alert in crowded areas and avoid touching any unidentified packages or vehicles.

Security has also been tightened across other NCR cities, including Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad. Random checking of passengers’ bags and belongings has been made mandatory at metro and bus stations.

Officials stated that the enhanced security arrangement in Noida will not be a temporary measure but will continue for the foreseeable future. Special security plans will be enforced during festivals and large public gatherings.

DCP Yamuna Prasad added that all police wings have been directed to work in close coordination. Regular coordination meetings will be held between local police stations, traffic units, intelligence branches, and metro security forces to ensure seamless communication and preparedness.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the blast near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi is ongoing. The explosion, which occurred inside a car, engulfed several nearby vehicles in flames. The tragic incident claimed *eight lives* and left *twenty-four injured, all of whom were admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital for treatment.

Eyewitnesses said the blast occurred at a time when the area was heavily crowded, and the sound of the explosion was heard several kilometers away. Delhi Police, NSG, and forensic teams reached the site soon after and began an in-depth investigation to determine the nature of the explosive and how it was placed inside the vehicle.

In response, security agencies across the NCR have intensified surveillance and ground patrolling. Noida Police officials emphasized that this heightened alert is a preventive measure aimed at deterring any possible threat or secondary incident.

The Noida administration has also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the authorities, remain alert in public places, and refrain from spreading rumors. Public awareness and cooperation, officials said, are key to maintaining security and order in such situations.

Through its swift and rigorous actions, the Noida Police have sent out a clear message — that no compromise will be made when it comes to public safety. The objective is not just to respond to incidents but to prevent them proactively, ensuring peace and security across Noida and surrounding regions.
