Women Basketball Tournament Matches Continue in Gautam Buddh Nagar

Exciting matches were played on the second day of the Uttar Pradesh Invitational Women Basketball Tournament at Ramagya School with teams from eight districts participating.

The Uttar Pradesh Invitational Women Basketball Tournament organized under the Directorate of Sports Uttar Pradesh and District Sports Office Gautam Buddh Nagar is being held at Ramagya School KP 5. On the second day of the tournament, several matches were played among teams from different districts, showcasing strong performances and competitive spirit. A total of eight teams from districts including Gautam Buddh Nagar, Hapur, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, Aligarh, Saharanpur and Agra are participating in the tournament. The event aims to promote women’s participation in sports and provide a platform for athletes to demonstrate their talent. Spectators also witnessed exciting and closely contested matches during the day.

Match Results of Day Two

Several key matches were played on the second day of the tournament. Agra defeated Meerut by 16/02, while Ghaziabad secured a win against Prayagraj by 22/11. Gautam Buddh Nagar defeated Saharanpur by 11/10, showing strong performance. Agra also defeated Saharanpur by 23/11. Gautam Buddh Nagar won against Meerut by 6/2, while Saharanpur defeated Meerut by 2/0. All matches were competitive and reflected the high level of skill among players.

Matches Conducted Under Official Supervision

District Sports Officer Dr Parvez informed that all matches were conducted under the supervision of the Uttar Pradesh Basketball Association’s panel of referees. The officiating team included Chief Referees Rishabh Batra, Vinay Panwar, Saurabh Kumar, Sohit Panwar and Wahid Khan. Proper adherence to rules and fair play was ensured throughout the tournament.

Encouragement to Players and Participation

On this occasion, Ramagya School Principal Avani Singh extended her best wishes to all players and appreciated their performance. She stated that such competitions help in nurturing sports talent and strengthening sports culture. The event was attended by Vijay Kumar, Anjum Malik, Sumit Nagar, Subham Nagar and Office Assistant Devendra Kaushik along with others. All participating teams displayed excellent sportsmanship and contributed to the success of the tournament.
