The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to conduct the Civil Services Preliminary Examination on May 25, 2025. The exam will be held in two shifts, the first from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and the second from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Aspirants must arrive at the examination center at least 30 minutes early to avoid any last-minute issues, as latecomers will not be allowed to take the exam. This article covers all essential instructions, including documents to carry and items prohibited inside the exam hall, ensuring candidates are well-prepared for the big day.

Essential Documents Candidates Must Carry

Candidates are required to bring their admit cards without fail, as entry to the exam center will not be permitted without it. Along with the admit card, a valid photo ID proof matching the details on the admit card is mandatory. In cases where the photograph on the admit card is unclear or faded, candidates should carry a fresh passport-sized photograph as a backup. The UPSC also advises aspirants to carry a black ballpoint pen for filling out the OMR answer sheet; however, the actual marking on the answer sheet must be done with a blue ballpoint pen. Ensuring all these items are ready and verified beforehand can prevent unnecessary hassle on the exam day.

Strict Prohibition of Certain Items Inside the Exam Hall

UPSC has clearly stated that certain items are strictly banned inside the exam premises to maintain fairness and avoid any malpractice. Expensive personal belongings, bags, handbags, and electronic devices like mobile phones and smartwatches are not allowed inside the exam hall. Additionally, any printed materials, including notes or books, are forbidden. Candidates are advised to carefully review their admit cards for any discrepancies and immediately report any issues to the UPSC authorities via email at uscsp-upsc@nic.in to avoid complications during entry or the examination itself.

This detailed set of instructions aims to help candidates focus entirely on their performance without worrying about procedural or administrative setbacks on the day of the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025.
