The grand closing ceremony of the India Skills National Competition 2025–26, organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, was successfully held at the India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from contestants, trainers, industry representatives, and dignitaries from across the country, celebrating excellence in skills, innovation, and professional competence. The competition provided a national platform for young talent to demonstrate their abilities and connect with emerging employment opportunities. The ceremony emphasized the importance of skill development in driving economic growth and strengthening the workforce for future challenges.

Skill India Initiative Promotes Continuous Learning
Addressing the gathering, Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, highlighted that the Skill India Mission has evolved into a nationwide movement involving collaboration between government, industry, and society. He stressed the importance of continuous learning and adaptability in a rapidly changing job market, encouraging youth to focus on upgrading their skills regularly. The minister underlined that sustained effort and dedication are essential for achieving long-term success. He also noted that platforms like India Skills play a crucial role in bridging the gap between education and employability by equipping young individuals with industry-relevant competencies.
Participation Strengthens National Skill Ecosystem
Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, Cabinet Minister from the Government of Rajasthan, encouraged participants by stating that skills define an individual’s identity and are key to achieving recognition at national and international levels. He emphasized that participants representing India in global competitions will contribute to enhancing the country’s reputation worldwide. Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Kapil Dev Agarwal, remarked that skills are central to self-reliance and economic empowerment. He highlighted that youth from small towns and rural areas are increasingly participating in such platforms, reflecting inclusive growth and progress toward the vision of a developed India by 2047. Haryana Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, Sports, and Justice, Gaurav Gautam, reiterated the importance of youth as a foundational pillar of the nation and encouraged confidence in their capabilities.
Uttar Pradesh Participants Achieve Strong Results
In his welcome address, Arun Kumar Pillai, CEO of the National Skill Development Corporation, described the competition as a celebration of excellence, commitment, and professional growth. He emphasized that such initiatives not only create employment opportunities but also enhance confidence and dignity among youth. Pulkit Khare, Director of the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, congratulated the state’s participants and extended best wishes for upcoming international competitions, including World Skills. Uttar Pradesh participants delivered an impressive performance, securing multiple medals across categories. Nitin Kumar from Prayagraj (Wall & Floor Tiling) and Suryansh Gupta from Agra (Renewable Energy) won gold medals. Satvik Goyal from Moradabad (Industrial Design Technology) and Junaid from Ghaziabad (Carpentry) secured silver medals. Bronze medals were awarded to Gambhir Singh from Farrukhabad (Beauty Therapy), Lavanya Shukla from Lucknow (Graphic Design), and Sheetal Verma from Kanpur (Painting & Decorating).
The event was attended by ministers, public representatives, senior officials, industry leaders, and thousands of participants from states including Bihar and Maharashtra. The closing ceremony reinforced that India Skills is not just a competition but a milestone in the journey of India’s youth toward global excellence. It also highlighted the role of skill development in strengthening the nation’s workforce and supporting long-term economic growth.
