Support Drive Initiated as Delhi CM’s Custody Extended by ED
In a proactive move of solidarity, Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has announced the launch of a WhatsApp campaign titled ‘Kejriwal ko Ashirwad’, inviting well-wishes and prayers for the jailed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor.
In a video message released on Friday, Sunita Kejriwal urged individuals to participate in the campaign by sending blessings and prayers to Arvind Kejriwal through a dedicated WhatsApp number. The initiative aims to provide moral support and encouragement during the challenging legal phase faced by the Delhi CM.
This announcement follows the recent extension of Arvind Kejriwal’s custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) until April 1. The decision came after the Delhi CM appeared in court and expressed concerns about his health and the alleged motives behind his arrest.
Concerns Raised by Sunita Kejriwal
Sunita Kejriwal, present at the court proceedings, highlighted her husband’s health issues, including fluctuating sugar levels and perceived harassment. She expressed confidence in justice prevailing and emphasized public support as a crucial factor.
During the hearing, Arvind Kejriwal voiced concerns about the ED’s intentions, alleging an agenda to suppress the AAP. He expressed readiness for investigation while questioning the necessity of his prolonged custody, citing limited involvement in the case.
ED’s Plea for Extended Custody
The ED justified the custody extension, citing the extensive documentation and testimonies gathered during the investigation. The plea emphasized the need for further interrogation based on the findings and complexities of the case.
The ‘Kejriwal ko Ashirwad’ campaign reflects the solidarity and support extended to Arvind Kejriwal amidst legal challenges, highlighting public engagement and concern for justice in the ongoing proceedings.
