Lok Sabha Election Results Live Updates: Election Commission to Present List of Newly-Elected MPs to President Today | CliqExplainer

The Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, accompanied by Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu today. They will present the comprehensive list of newly-elected Members of Parliament (MPs) to kickstart the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha. This crucial step marks the beginning of the process wherein the President will invite the largest party to form the government.

On Wednesday, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) unanimously passed a resolution to elect Narendra Modi as their leader for the third consecutive term. The BJP-led NDA secured a total of 293 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, comfortably crossing the majority mark of 272.

The leaders of the NDA met at Prime Minister Modi’s residence to review the election results and discuss government formation. Notable attendees included Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu and Janata Dal leader Nitish Kumar, whose combined 28 seats are crucial for maintaining the BJP’s coalition majority.

In other updates, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called for a meeting of all MLAs of Delhi at the Chief Minister’s residence today at 5 pm to discuss the election results. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have been seen arriving at the residence of BJP national president JP Nadda.

The Lok Sabha Election Results Live Updates also include significant political maneuvers, such as the Chief Election Commissioner’s visit to the President’s House with the election results, TMC leaders’ meetings with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and BJP MP Tejasvi Surya’s interactions with former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy and his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy of JD(S).
