Noida: As biting cold conditions continue to grip the region, a social organisation in Noida has been extending consistent relief to homeless and underprivileged individuals living on the streets. The Jeevan Arpan Social Service Organisation has been actively conducting late-night blanket distribution drives across several sectors of the city to ensure that no vulnerable person is left exposed to the harsh winter conditions.
The organisation carried out blanket distribution in Noida’s Sector 15, 14, 14A, 17, as well as Sectors 2 and 3, reaching out to people living under the open sky on pavements, roadside corners, and other public spaces. The initiative was led by the organisation’s founder and president, Dipanshu Sharma, who personally supervised the late-night outreach activities along with other members of the team.
According to Dipanshu Sharma, the primary objective of this initiative is to ensure that no helpless or destitute individual loses their life due to extreme cold. He said the organisation has been driven by a strong sense of social responsibility and humanitarian concern, especially during the winter season when homeless individuals face the greatest risk to their lives. “The idea behind this programme is simple — no one should suffer or die because they could not protect themselves from the cold. With this thought, our organisation has been working continuously during this harsh winter,” he said.
Sharma further informed that the blanket distribution drive has been ongoing for the past one month. Members of the organisation step out of their homes late at night on a daily basis to identify and assist those in need. The volunteers reach people sleeping on footpaths, near markets, under flyovers, and at bus stops, ensuring that help reaches those who are often overlooked.

So far, the Jeevan Arpan Social Service Organisation has distributed blankets to more than 200 people, providing much-needed relief during the cold wave. The beneficiaries include daily wage labourers, elderly individuals, and others who are forced to spend nights outdoors due to financial hardship or lack of shelter. The organisation has been focusing on direct ground-level assistance rather than symbolic efforts, making sure that relief reaches people personally and immediately.
Local residents have appreciated the organisation’s efforts, noting that such initiatives play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable sections of society during extreme weather conditions. The late-night timing of the drives has been particularly significant, as temperatures tend to drop sharply after midnight, increasing the risk of illness and hypothermia among those sleeping outdoors.
The initiative has also highlighted the commitment of the organisation’s members, who voluntarily dedicate their time and resources despite personal responsibilities. Their consistent presence on the streets during late hours reflects a strong sense of dedication and empathy towards the less fortunate.
Several members of the organisation were present during the blanket distribution drive, including Anmol Sehgal, Nishu Upadhyay, Adarsh Singh (Kunal), Rahul Bhardwaj, and Aryan Shukla. They actively participated in identifying needy individuals, distributing blankets, and interacting with people to understand their immediate concerns.
The Jeevan Arpan Social Service Organisation has stated that it plans to continue its winter relief efforts as long as cold conditions persist. The organisation believes that collective social responsibility and sustained efforts are essential to address the challenges faced by homeless and underprivileged communities, especially during extreme weather.
Through this ongoing initiative, the organisation aims not only to provide physical warmth but also to send a message of compassion and solidarity, reaffirming the importance of community-driven support during times of hardship.
