The New Okhla Industrial Development Authority carried out an extensive anti-encroachment operation across various parts of the city on 27 February 2026. The initiative aimed to keep roads and public places accessible, organized, and free from traffic congestion. Unauthorized vendors, temporary stalls, and illegal roadside structures were removed during the drive.

The encroachment removal teams operating under Work Circles 1 to 10 undertook action in Sector 5 Bans Balli Market, DSC Road, Atta Market, MP 3 Road near Sector 34, Sector 63, Sector 60, MP 3 Road Sector 122, NSEZ area, near HCL in Sector 126, and Sector 150.

Illegal roadside vending and temporary setups at these locations were causing traffic obstructions and inconvenience to commuters. The enforcement teams cleared the affected stretches to restore smooth vehicular movement and pedestrian access.

The Authority has been receiving numerous complaints from residents, RWAs, industrial associations, and other sources regarding unauthorized vendors and encroachments. In response, a structured and regular anti-encroachment campaign has been implemented to address these concerns effectively.

Officials stated that such operations will continue on a daily basis to prevent re-encroachment. Monitoring teams have been deployed across different circles to ensure sustained enforcement and better urban management. Residents have also been urged to cooperate in maintaining orderly and accessible public spaces.
