Gautam Buddh Nagar, February 19, 2026 –Italy-headquartered global company Simplast Group, a leader in advanced plastic and rotational molding products for the automobile industry, has announced the establishment of a new manufacturing unit in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority region of Uttar Pradesh with a total investment of ₹70 crore. The project includes 50 percent foreign direct investment from Italy, strengthening industrial cooperation between India and Italy and reinforcing the Yamuna region’s emergence as a global manufacturing hub.
The proposed investment of ₹70 crore will facilitate the development of a modern manufacturing facility equipped with advanced European technology and state-of-the-art production systems. The inclusion of 50 percent FDI will enhance foreign capital inflow into the state and stimulate industrial activity in the region.
The new unit will manufacture high-quality plastic and rotational molding products for the automobile sector, catering to both domestic and international markets. This is expected to boost exports from Uttar Pradesh, increase foreign exchange earnings, and enhance the state’s global competitiveness in manufacturing.
The project is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, including direct jobs for skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workers. Additionally, indirect employment will be created through suppliers, logistics services, transportation, and local businesses. The initiative will contribute to the socio-economic development of the region while strengthening its industrial base.
A major highlight of the project is the transfer of advanced European technology and the implementation of international quality control systems. The local workforce will receive training aligned with global standards, improving technical capabilities and productivity. This approach will reinforce the industrial ecosystem and ensure long-term sustainable development.
The project will also support ancillary industries, MSME units, and supply chain networks, accelerating regional industrial growth. Experts believe such foreign-backed investments will position the Yamuna region prominently on the global manufacturing map.
Aligned with the Government of India’s Make in India initiative and the industrial development vision of the Yamuna region, the project represents a strategic step toward expanding domestic manufacturing capacity and attracting global investments.
