Noida, December 2025:
In an effort to address long-standing civic and infrastructure issues in Noida, a delegation of the Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association (FONRWA) paid a courtesy visit to Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer Lokesh M on Thursday. The delegation held detailed discussions with the CEO on a wide range of urban challenges affecting residents across multiple sectors of the city, with a focus on pending development works, sewerage problems, water supply, and issues related to encroachment and unauthorised construction.

During the meeting, FONRWA President Yogendra Sharma highlighted that several development works across various sectors of Noida have remained pending for a long period, causing inconvenience to residents. He urged the Noida Authority to ensure the timely completion of these long-delayed projects and prioritise infrastructure development to improve the overall quality of life in the city. Sharma emphasised that residents have been raising these concerns repeatedly and are seeking concrete timelines for resolution.
FONRWA General Secretary K K Jain referred to the decisions taken during a previous meeting held on October 10, 2025, and pointed out that several key issues discussed at that time remain unresolved. He specifically flagged the persistent sewerage problems, particularly in affordable housing flats, which continue to affect daily life and sanitation standards. Jain also raised concerns over unauthorised construction in residential areas and stressed the need for constituting a dedicated committee to examine the issue and recommend corrective measures.
The delegation further drew attention to the condition of inactive tube wells across multiple sectors. Jain requested that non-functional tube wells be repaired and made operational at the earliest to address water scarcity issues. He also suggested that new tube wells be installed wherever required to ensure an adequate and uninterrupted water supply, especially during peak demand periods.
Another major issue discussed during the meeting was the growing problem of unauthorised vendors, street hawkers, carts, kiosks, and illegal vending zones in residential and commercial areas. The FONRWA delegation demanded immediate action to remove all unauthorised vending activities and encroachments, stating that these have led to traffic congestion, safety concerns, and deterioration of civic order in several sectors.

Responding to the concerns raised by the residents’ body, Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M acknowledged that some development works had been delayed due to restrictions imposed under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which led to a temporary halt in construction activities. He informed the delegation that tenders have already been issued for several pending works across different sectors and assured them that execution would resume and progress would be expedited once conditions permit.
Lokesh M further assured the delegation that the Noida Authority is committed to resolving all genuine issues raised by residents in a time-bound manner. He stated that the authority is actively reviewing the pending matters and that necessary instructions would be issued to the concerned departments to ensure faster implementation of approved projects and corrective measures.
The meeting was attended by several senior office-bearers and members of FONRWA, reflecting the collective concern of resident welfare associations across Noida. Those present included President Yogendra Sharma, General Secretary K K Jain, Senior Vice President Vijay Bhati, Ashok Kumar Mishra, Devendra Singh Chauhan, Umashankar Sharma, Treasurer Pawan Yadav, Pradeep Vohra, Advocate Latasahab Lohia, Sanjay Chauhan, Shyam Singh Yadav, Ashok Sharma, G S Sachdeva, Omveer Bansal, Koshinder Yadav, Rajesh Singh, Anita, and Bhushan Sharma.
The delegation reiterated its commitment to working collaboratively with the Noida Authority to ensure sustainable urban development and better civic facilities for residents. FONRWA members expressed hope that the assurances given by the CEO would translate into swift on-ground action, particularly in addressing sewerage issues, water supply concerns, and encroachments that have been affecting residential areas for years.
The meeting concluded with an understanding that regular follow-ups would be held to monitor progress on the issues discussed, ensuring accountability and transparency in the resolution process.
