Gautam Buddh Nagar, May 1, 2026:
On the occasion of International Labour Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Shramveer Gaurav Samman Samaroh 2026 from Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, marking a major step toward strengthening worker welfare and social security in the state. The programme included the launch and foundation laying of several welfare initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of workers.
During the state-level event, the Chief Minister highlighted the contribution of workers in nation-building and reiterated the government’s commitment to their welfare, empowerment, and social protection. Meritorious students and principals of Atal Residential Schools were felicitated, while workers were provided toolkits and certificates to support skill development and livelihood opportunities.

In parallel, a grand district-level programme was organised at the Greater Noida Authority Auditorium in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from workers associated with various industries, factories, and establishments across the district. Adequate arrangements were made to ensure smooth conduct and convenience for attendees.
A major highlight of the event was the announcement of a 300-bed ESIC hospital in Greater Noida. The Chief Minister handed over the land allotment letter for the project in Lucknow, paving the way for improved healthcare infrastructure for workers in the region. Additionally, the foundation stone for a Chief Minister Composite School in Jewar was laid virtually.
The programme also marked the launch of several healthcare and welfare initiatives in the district. A large-scale Mega Health Camp was initiated at 201 locations involving both government and private hospitals. Alongside this, 25 mobile medical units under the “Chief Minister Arogya Rath” scheme were flagged off to extend healthcare services to workers at their workplaces and residential areas.

Further strengthening healthcare infrastructure, foundation stones were laid for dispensaries and ambulance rooms at 79 industrial locations. The event also saw the inauguration of four Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, installation of 10 blood analyzers, and operationalisation of 43 creches to support working families. In addition, five new hospitals were empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana to expand access to affordable healthcare.
The main programme held in Lucknow was broadcast live at the district venue through LED screens, allowing public representatives, officials, and workers to watch and listen to the proceedings. The live telecast helped connect local participants with the state-level initiatives and announcements, generating enthusiasm and awareness among workers.
Officials also used the platform to provide detailed information about various government schemes related to worker welfare, including health services, housing, education, skill development, and social security. The administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring that these benefits reach all eligible workers.
Another significant initiative launched during the event was a free food van service in collaboration with the Handloom Handicrafts Exports Welfare Association under a corporate social responsibility initiative. The service aims to provide hygienic and nutritious meals to around 600 industrial workers three times a week, particularly benefiting those who commute from distant areas.
The programme was attended by several public representatives and officials, including District Panchayat Chairperson Amit Chaudhary, BJP District President Abhishek Sharma, District Magistrate Medha Roopam, Additional CEO of Greater Noida Authority Shrilakshmi VS, Additional District Magistrate Atul Kumar, Additional Labour Commissioner Rakesh Dwivedi, and Deputy Commissioner Industries Pankaj Nirwan, along with other senior officials.
