Noida
Senior party leaders on Tuesday visited the site of the tragic incident in Sector 150, Noida, where a young man, Yuvraj, lost his life, and accused the administration and the Noida Authority of corruption and gross negligence. The leaders questioned how excessive water accumulated at the site and why basic safety measures, including the construction of a boundary wall, were not put in place despite the evident danger.
The delegation included district president Sudhir Bhati, former electoral candidate Sunil Chaudhary, party vice-president Manoj Goyal, Traders’ Association president Babulal Bansal, national secretary of the Lohia Vahini Rambir Yadav, and state secretary Gaurav Yadav. The leaders gathered at the accident site to assess the situation firsthand and to raise questions about the circumstances that led to the fatality.
Allegations of Corruption and Negligence
Addressing party workers and local residents at the site, the leaders alleged that Yuvraj’s death was the result of systemic corruption and administrative failure. They claimed that a family’s only son had fallen victim to the negligence of the administration and the Noida Authority, which they accused of ignoring safety norms and failing to act despite visible risks.
Leaders questioned how such a large quantity of water was allowed to accumulate at the site. “The most serious question is how so much water collected here in the first place. If officials were doing their duty, this situation would never have arisen,” one of the leaders said. They further asked why, despite the presence of deep water, a boundary wall or proper barricading was not constructed to prevent accidents.
Questions Raised on Departmental Responsibility
The delegation openly questioned the role of senior officials responsible for water management and civil works. They asked what the heads of the water and civil departments were doing while a potentially dangerous situation was developing at the site.
“If there had been no water here, Yuvraj might still be alive today,” leaders said, holding the administration responsible for failing to anticipate and mitigate the risk. They argued that the tragedy was avoidable and occurred only because warning signs were ignored and preventive measures were not taken.
Visit Aimed at Highlighting Ground Reality
During the visit, the leaders closely inspected the area and discussed the sequence of events that reportedly led to the accident. They pointed out what they described as glaring lapses in planning, monitoring, and execution of safety measures. According to them, the site lacked basic infrastructure safeguards that should be mandatory in such locations.
The leaders also interacted with local residents and party workers, who echoed similar concerns. Residents claimed that complaints regarding safety and waterlogging in the area had been raised earlier but were not addressed effectively.
Demand for Accountability
Party leaders demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and strict action against officials found responsible. They stressed that accountability must be fixed not only at the operational level but also among senior अधिकारियों who failed to ensure proper oversight.
They stated that merely expressing condolences after such incidents is not enough and that concrete action is required to prevent future tragedies. “A young life has been lost. The system cannot be allowed to escape responsibility,” a leader said.
Call for Immediate Safety Measures
Apart from demanding accountability, the delegation also called for immediate steps to secure the area. They urged the authorities to drain accumulated water, construct boundary walls, and install proper barricading and warning signs to ensure that no further accidents occur at the site.
They warned that if corrective measures are not taken promptly, similar incidents could occur elsewhere, putting more lives at risk. The leaders said they would continue to raise the issue at administrative and political levels until justice is ensured for the affected family.
Public Anger and Demand for Justice
The visit reflected growing public anger over what many see as repeated failures in infrastructure safety management in Noida’s developing sectors. Party leaders said the death of Yuvraj has become a symbol of the cost of negligence and corruption, and they vowed to keep the issue alive until systemic reforms are implemented.
The delegation concluded the visit by reiterating its commitment to stand with the affected family and to fight for justice. They said that the tragedy must serve as a wake-up call for the administration and that safeguarding citizens’ lives should be treated as the highest priority.
