Member of Parliament from Gautam Buddh Nagar and former Union Minister Mahesh Sharma on Tuesday visited the site of the tragic accident in Sector 150, Noida, and later met the family of the deceased software engineer Yuvraj Mehta. Expressing deep grief over the incident, the MP assured the bereaved family of full support from both himself and the government, and announced that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to ensure a fair and thorough probe into the matter.
Dr. Mahesh Sharma first reached the accident site in Sector 150, where he inspected the location and reviewed the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials present at the site briefed him on the sequence of events and the conditions that allegedly led to the fatal accident. The incident has triggered widespread concern over infrastructure safety and administrative accountability in the rapidly developing area.
Following the site inspection, the MP visited the residence of the deceased’s father, Rajkumar Mehta, to personally offer condolences. During the meeting, he expressed heartfelt sympathy to the family and described the loss as deeply painful and unfortunate. He said that the government stands firmly with the family in this difficult time and would ensure that justice is delivered.
Government Announces SIT for Fair Investigation
Addressing the family and local residents, Dr. Mahesh Sharma stated that the government has taken serious note of the incident and has already announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team to probe the case. He emphasized that the SIT would conduct an impartial and transparent investigation to identify lapses, negligence, or any other factors that may have contributed to the accident.
“The government is committed to ensuring a fair investigation. Whoever is found guilty during the probe will face strict action, without any exception,” he said. The MP added that accountability would be fixed based on the findings of the SIT, and no responsible party would be spared.

Assurance of Support to the Victim’s Family
Dr. Sharma assured the Mehta family that they would receive all possible assistance from the administration and the government. He said that every effort would be made to support the family and ensure that they receive justice. According to him, the loss of a young life due to alleged negligence is unacceptable and must be addressed with seriousness and sensitivity.
He also stressed the importance of learning lessons from the incident to prevent similar tragedies in the future. “Such incidents highlight the need for stronger monitoring of infrastructure projects and strict enforcement of safety norms,” he said.
Local Residents and Society Members Present
During the visit, a large number of residents from nearby housing societies and local areas were present. Many of them expressed grief over the incident and extended their condolences to the bereaved family. Residents also shared their concerns regarding safety conditions in the area and urged authorities to take immediate corrective measures.
Several residents said that the accident has created fear and anxiety among people living in the surrounding sectors. They called for urgent steps to improve safety standards and prevent further incidents. The presence of senior political leadership at the site was seen by locals as a positive step, though they emphasized that concrete action would be the true test.

Focus on Accountability and Prevention
The incident has once again brought the spotlight on infrastructure safety and oversight in Noida’s developing sectors. Observers say that the announcement of an SIT reflects the seriousness with which the government is viewing the case. However, many residents and civic groups have stressed that beyond investigation, there is a need for systemic reforms and stricter monitoring mechanisms.
Dr. Mahesh Sharma reiterated that the government’s priority is to ensure justice for the victim’s family and restore public confidence. He said that administrative agencies would be directed to cooperate fully with the SIT and implement any recommendations that emerge from the investigation.
Public Expectation of Timely Action
The visit concluded with the MP reiterating his commitment to follow up on the matter and remain in touch with the family until the investigation reaches a conclusion. He urged officials to act responsibly and sensitively, keeping in mind the human cost of negligence.
As the SIT begins its investigation, public attention remains focused on the outcome and the actions that will follow. The tragic death of Yuvraj Mehta has not only shaken his family but also raised broader questions about safety, governance, and accountability. Residents now hope that the investigation will lead to decisive action and help prevent such incidents in the future.
