Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar, May 1, 2026:
In a strict move to reinforce accountability within the police system and ensure women’s safety, the Noida Police Commissionerate has taken disciplinary action against a police official for alleged negligence in handling complaints related to harassment of women.

Acting on directives issued by Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, the in-charge of the Bilaspur police outpost under Dankaur police station, Ankit Saxena, has been line-attached with immediate effect. The action was taken after it was found that complaints related to misconduct and harassment of women were not handled with the seriousness required.

Officials stated that multiple complaints had been received regarding incidents of harassment and inappropriate behaviour towards women in the Bilaspur outpost jurisdiction. These complaints reportedly did not receive timely or effective action, prompting higher authorities to intervene.

The Commissioner took a serious view of the matter, emphasizing that any negligence in cases involving women’s safety will not be tolerated. The action against the outpost in-charge is part of a broader effort to ensure strict adherence to protocols and to send a clear message regarding accountability.

Line attachment is a disciplinary measure in which an officer is removed from field duties and attached to the police lines, pending further inquiry or administrative action. It is often used as an immediate response in cases where lapses in duty are identified.

Senior police officials indicated that the department is committed to ensuring that all complaints, especially those involving women’s safety, are addressed promptly and effectively. They reiterated that every officer is expected to respond with sensitivity and urgency in such cases.

The incident has also led to internal review mechanisms being strengthened within the police system. Authorities are reportedly assessing complaint-handling procedures and monitoring systems to prevent similar lapses in the future.

The action reflects a zero-tolerance policy toward negligence in handling sensitive cases. Officials stated that strict supervision and accountability measures are being implemented to ensure that victims receive timely justice and support.

Police have also urged citizens to report any incidents of harassment or misconduct without hesitation, assuring that complaints will be taken seriously and acted upon promptly. Efforts are being made to build public trust and ensure a safer environment, particularly for women.

The move is being seen as part of ongoing initiatives to strengthen law enforcement responsiveness and improve public confidence in the police system across Gautam Buddh Nagar.
