In order to ensure timely, transparent, and quality redressal of public grievances, a comprehensive review meeting of the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) was held at the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of Atul Kumar, Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue), Gautam Buddh Nagar. District-level officers and concerned staff attended the meeting.
During the meeting, a detailed department-wise and case-wise review of grievances receiving dissatisfied feedback and cases closed under the Special Close category was conducted. The Additional District Magistrate emphasized that IGRS is a top priority of the Government and any negligence, casual approach, or procedural lapse in grievance redressal will not be tolerated.
He issued clear instructions that departments recording a higher number of dissatisfied feedback cases or closing grievances under the Special Close category without proper justification and correct classification will be closely scrutinized. Concerned officers will be identified, and disciplinary action will be initiated against them. A consolidated report in this regard will also be forwarded to the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Office.
The Additional District Magistrate further directed that before closing any grievance, it is mandatory to establish telephonic communication with the complainant, and wherever required, conduct field inspections. Disposal reports must be supported with statements of the complainant and the respondent, photographs, inspection reports, and other relevant evidence to ensure the credibility and quality of grievance redressal.
He also instructed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to ensure that complaints received during daily public grievance hearings (Janta Darshan) are promptly registered on the IGRS portal and are regularly monitored till final disposal. Emphasizing accountability, he stated that grievance redressal should not be merely procedural but must provide a meaningful and satisfactory resolution to citizens.
The meeting reiterated the importance of transparency, quality, and timeliness in grievance redressal. Officers were directed to strictly adhere to the timelines prescribed by the Government and ensure that complainants receive effective and satisfactory solutions.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar Ashutosh Gupta, along with all concerned district officers and staff members, was present during the meeting. Concluding the review, the Additional District Magistrate instructed all officers to strictly comply with the directions issued and handle IGRS grievances with utmost seriousness and efficiency.
