Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Lokesh M conducted an extensive inspection of key locations across the city on Tuesday, directing officials to speed up ongoing development and maintenance works. During the visit, he reviewed the roundabouts in Sector 128 and Sector 132 and issued instructions to reduce their size, widen adjoining roads and ease traffic movement. He also set a 10-day deadline for the completion of the Mysore Clock Tower being constructed at the Sector 128 roundabout. Additionally, action was taken against a sanitation supervisor after poor cleanliness was found in several areas.
CEO Orders Quick Completion of Mysore Clock Tower, Road Widening at Sector 128
Dr Lokesh M inspected the Sector 128 roundabout, the 45-metre parallel road to the expressway, the stretch from Sector 128 to Sector 150, and the Sector 153 roundabout. Noting slow progress on the Mysore Clock Tower project at Sector 128, he directed the Horticulture Department to ensure full completion and operational readiness within 10 days. The structure, expected to become a prominent landmark, is being developed as part of the Authority’s beautification initiative.
To address traffic congestion at the roundabout, the CEO instructed Work Circle-9 to reduce the size of the rotary and widen the road for smoother vehicle movement. He also ordered mastic flooring work at the intersection to ensure long-term durability of the surface. Senior officials, including DGM Civil Vijay Rawal, Horticulture Director Anand Mohan and area managers from the concerned work circles, accompanied the CEO during the inspection.
At Sector 132, the Authority observed that heavy traffic pressure is consistently recorded during peak hours. Dr Lokesh directed officials to prepare an estimate for resizing the roundabout and expanding both the main carriageway and the service lanes. Officials were told to present the proposal at the earliest so that work can begin without delay.
Authority Flags Poor Sanitation, Stops Supervisor’s Salary; Orders Joint Action for Drainage Issues
During the inspection, the CEO identified potholes on various city roads and instructed teams to repair and fill them within 24 hours. At the 135-metre irrigation drain stretch from village Chaprauli to Sector 167, cleanliness was found in extremely poor condition. Considering the lapses, the salary of the sanitation supervisor for one month was withheld, and an explanation was sought. The cleaning teams were asked to complete pending tasks immediately and submit a compliance report to the Authority.
In the green belt area between Mohiyapur and Jhatta villages, the CEO noted waterlogging and directed the Civil, Water and Horticulture departments to conduct a joint inspection and prepare a coordinated action plan for resolution. Officials were told to ensure permanent solutions to prevent recurring water stagnation.
At the Sector 153 roundabout, the Horticulture Department is currently constructing a mandapam structure as part of landscape enhancement. Dr Lokesh instructed the department to take necessary action to ensure completion of the work within two months.
The series of inspections reflects the Noida Authority’s focus on improving traffic flow, strengthening civic infrastructure and maintaining cleanliness standards across the city. With multiple development projects under way, officials have been directed to prioritise timely execution and address public grievances efficiently.
