The aerodrome license issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been handed over to Noida International Airport (Jewar) as the airport moves closer to becoming operational.
During the interaction, discussions were also held with the airport operator regarding the expediting of the remaining operational processes to ensure the timely commencement of airport services.

Jewar International Airport is considered one of the most significant aviation developments in India, and it is set to become the largest airport area in Asia. The project is expected to play a transformative role in strengthening air connectivity and supporting regional economic growth.
The airport has been envisioned as a major aviation hub, featuring integrated Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities along with dedicated air cargo infrastructure. These facilities will contribute significantly to enhancing India’s aviation ecosystem and boosting logistics and trade capabilities.
Once fully operational, the airport is expected to provide world-class aviation infrastructure, support the growth of passenger and cargo traffic, and generate new employment and business opportunities in the region.
The development of the airport is part of the broader expansion of India’s aviation sector, which has witnessed rapid growth in recent years.
Officials highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s aviation sector continues to expand at an unprecedented pace, with a strong focus on building modern infrastructure, improving connectivity, and creating new avenues for economic growth across the country.
